Marketing & Event Coordinator full-time

Microserve is looking for a Marketing & Event Coordinator to join our team in Burnaby, BC. In this role you will provide support for all internal and external marketing activities, with a focus on end-to-end event management. The successful candidate will be extremely organized with excellent attention to detail, able to take initiative and work in a self-directed environment, and have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Take end-to-end responsibility for planning events, such as client seminars, customer appreciation events, and tradeshows
Specific tasks include managing budgets, designing invitations and related communications, managing invitation and attendance lists, driving attendance, coordinating with venues, vendors and sponsoring partners, and post-event follow up
Maintain accurate records for all marketing activities, including schedules, to do lists and budgets
Administer marketing funding
Research, coordinate and work with vendors on various marketing plans and activities
Maintain Microserve vendor authorizations, including tracking and coordinating completion of various program requirements
Complete basic visual and graphic design work, such as designing email invitations
Coordinate meetings and maintain accurate agendas and minutes
Participate in digital and social marketing activities as requested
Other office duties as requested
Requirements:
Diploma/Degree is required, related focus in marketing or business is preferred.
Previous event management and administrative experience is strongly preferred. In lieu of this, experience demonstrating similar organizational and project management skills is required.
Proficient in keeping organized records.
The ability to create a variety of marketing materials with specific direction, to a consistent branding standard
Excellent attention to detail in dealing with large amounts of data.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
General math skills for accurate tracking and management of budgets.
Strong Microsoft office skills.
Knowledge/experience in the technology industry and/or business to business marketing would be considered an asset.
Basic visual design skills, such as ability to design attractive and compelling email communications and newsletters.
