We are looking for an energetic, efficient and reliable Graphic Designer for our busy Commercial Real Estate office in Downtown Vancouver.  This role contributes to the efficient day-to-day operations of the office and supports the work of all staff members, including management. The primary responsibilities of this position are to create brochures, market reports, email blasts and other marketing material in a timely and creative fashion using Adobe Creative Suite.  This position is ideally suited to someone recently graduated emerging into design, marketing or real estate industries.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Graphic Designer is required to perform a range of duties including, but not limited to:

Graphic Design and Administrative Duties

  • Develop and edit highly formatted documents with strict attention to detail
  • Work within and help to maintain established brand guidelines
  • Prepare and review correspondence, reports and presentations
  • Manage online databases and prepare online marketing campaigns
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Provide administrative support to management and other staff
  • Exercise judgment and make decisions to promote smooth workflow and ensure demands are met
  • Update website content on a regular basis
  • Data entry and upkeep of the organization's databases, ensuring a high level of accuracy

Reception

Reception duties are minimal yet required for covering breaks and other duties when the receptionist is required to be away from the phone:

  • Answer phone inquiries in a professional and courteous manner
  • Greet visitors to the organization in a professional and friendly manner
  • Prepare and send outgoing mail and packages

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in the use of specific computer programs:
    • Advanced knowledge of InDesign
    • Intermediate knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator
    • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel & PowerPoint)
    • Knowledge of Mailchimp preferred, but not required
  • Experience in the design/printing/publishing industry is an asset
  • The ability to communicate fluently in English (oral and written)
  • In-depth knowledge of the administrative procedures and tools required to support an individual or group
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well under pressure, juggle tasks and work efficiently against tight deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and adjust workload accordingly
  • Demonstrated problem solving and judgment capabilities

Personal Characteristics

The Graphic Designer will demonstrate competence in the following areas:

  • Excellent time management skills; attention to detail; the ability to prioritize by assessing situations to determine urgency; ability to develop a work schedule, set goals, create/implement actions plans and monitor progress towards goals; and ability to make clear, timely decisions
  • Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions to enhance organizational effectiveness; ability to undertake self-directed tasks when necessary
  • Anticipate, understand, and respond to the needs of staff and clients to meet or exceed their expectations

  • Communicate effectively with a wide variety of personalities
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new responsibilities

Working Conditions

  • 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
