The Marketing Team is responsible for the company's overall marketing and communications strategies across Western and Northern Canada.

We are looking for a marketing and communications professional to join our growing environmental consulting firm. The successful candidate will function in the role of the Marketing Manager executing on internal and external marketing initiatives, communications and business development strategies to support Hemmera’s growth objectives.

This role reports directly to the VP, Development and works on corporate marketing initiatives to continue building Hemmera’s brand and profile in the marketplace. The successful candidate will also assist with strategic business planning, client pursuits, tradeshow events and a broad range of other corporate, employee and marketing communications initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the development and execution of new initiatives and programs
  • Lead, mentor and coach a team of talented marketing and communications professionals
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal Business Lines, Sectors and Departments
  • Develop and implement a plan for award-winning projects
  • Secure involvement at key events including speaker talks, sponsorship, client meetings
  • Strategize, plan for and execute successful client events and client hospitality suites supporting all Sectors and Lines of Business
  • Create client/opportunity capture plans to help with secure new business
  • Work closely with our Sector and Business Leaders to support growth
  • Contribute to the proposal process through sourcing opportunities to coordinating the final package through writing, review and graphic communications
  • Partner with staff to develop messaging and approach for client presentations
  • Manage corporate branding practices
  • Develop and produce the corporate newsletter and industry bulletins to clients and partners across Western and Northern Canada
  • Plan and design marketing collateral and qualification packages
  • Create editorial board for future press release stories
  • Manage Hemmera’s social media presence
  • Perform customer and competitor research and formulate a corporate sector marketing strategy in partnership with the Sector Leaders
  • Manage and develop content for  internal website/intranet
  • Prepare presentations, briefings and materials in support of department and business activities
  • Develop and support effective systems for monitoring and the evaluation of business development opportunities, including our BD process and Sales Funnel
  • Manage department budget
  • Support business planning initiatives

Qualifications

  • 8-15 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree in communications or marketing, and/or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledgeable in social media applications
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools required
  • Experience in Adobe PhotoShop/Illustrator/InDesign/Drupal an asset
  • Highly detail oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with superior interpersonal / leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Possess a clear understanding of print media specs
  • Excellent at building relationships
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressured, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to take initiative and follow-through
  • Active in community or industry associations
