Marketing and Communications Manager

LUSH Cosmetics North America a rapidly growing, Vancouver-based retailer and manufacturer known worldwide for our unique bath and beauty products, effective skin and hair care, personalized customer service, environmental activism and a fun and funky atmosphere. We are dedicated to fighting animal testing, fair trade sourcing practices and supporting sustainable communities as well as giving back to organizations that make a difference through our Charity Pot Program. We are looking for a dynamic and creative individual to join our Brand Communications Team as the Marketing and Communications Manager

The Marketing and Communications Manager leads the creation, implementation and management of ongoing PR, marketing, social and digital initiatives including community management, brand growth and long-term engagement strategies. The position reports to the Director of Brand Communications.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the social media, marketing, and public relations efforts across North America (a team of 5 local and 4 remote)
  • Contributing to generating branding strategy for the North American business by being an active member of the Brand Communications Strategy team
  • Leading the External Communications team to create, develop and execute ideas/campaigns with competing deadlines for external audiences
  • Innovating new and effective means to drive traffic, increase product sales and raise the brand profile through in store experience, social influence, media relationships and digital engagement
  • Coordinating with internal and external teams to ensure consistency across all communication channels while delivering a superior customer experience and aligning with the brand vision
  • Communicating effectively to the business at all levels on progress, risks, successes, challenges, resourcing requirements and changes to priorities
  • Creating an environment where your team can develop, fully contribute and grow in their roles
  • Filtering and managing feedback from other channels to share and execute ideas and goals with your team while streamlining the communication flow

  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements
  • Flexible and open to changing priorities and managing multiple tasks simultaneously within compressed timeframes
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to multi-task and set priorities within tight timelines and high expectations
  • Willingness to travel and work in a global team of professionals
  • Passion for brand building with keen eye for industry trends and the next big idea

You bring the following qualifications:

  • Marketing, Communications or eCommerce certificate or degree
  • Minimum of seven years of professional services in marketing and communications leadership role with a minimum of 4 years people management
  • Significant experience in marketing/digital/social media/PR for a retail business
