The Marketing and Communications Specialist will work as part of the communications and marketing team to develop briefs for marketing initiatives. In this role, you will provide insight into industry trends, market threats and competition. Reporting to the Director, Corporate Communications and Marketing you will be responsible for the planning, developing and delivering of relevant and timely marketing content.
What you will do:
Become an expert on our members’ needs, as well as our competition and how best to beat them
Provide creative content and tools to help communicate the value proposition of the Association and its products and services
Develop an understanding of the market, and using that knowledge, execute compelling marketing and sales strategies
Develop briefs for product marketing initiatives
Plan the launch of new marketing strategies and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan
Define positioning, messaging, competitive differentiation, and go-to-market strategies that differentiates the Association’s products and services
Provide communication content for marketing campaigns
Report on metrics for all marketing campaigns
Work with the Graphic Designer, to determine creative direction for a variety of projects
Prepare content and work with the Public and Media Relations Specialist to execute social media strategies
What we are looking for:
University degree, or post-secondary diploma in a related field (communications, marketing) and/or relevant experience
Financial advisor industry knowledge, at least as it relates to financial products and their distribution
Minimum of 5 years in marketing and communications
Proven track record of writing high-impact, professional-quality marketing and sales content
Ability to define and interpret market research data
Strong design and brand sensitivity
Excellent creative writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
Ability to think strategically
Ability to adapt the style, tone and complexity of writing to suit a variety of formats and audiences
Strong project, time management and organizational skills
Strong prioritization skills and the ability to work within tight deadlines
