Back in Motion Rehab Inc. is looking to hire a Research Analyst & Writer to join the Business Development team in Richmond or Vancouver.
This is a full-time permanent position.

Under the direction of the VP of Business Development and working closely with the Company Executive and Business Development team, the Research Analyst/Writer is responsible for researching, analyzing and presenting business development opportunities related to the company’s growth strategies that fit with the company’s vision, mission and values. The candidate will work on special projects related to the growth of the company, such as researching, writing and editing business proposals and reports. The Research Analyst/Writer develops and maintains relationships with many key internal and external stakeholders, to gather necessary information for new business opportunities.

Responsible for the development and revision of important external company communications, the Research Analyst/Writer works closely with the Business Development team in the planning, development and delivery of internal and external communications and media relations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs research and analysis for business development opportunities, and develops reports, presentations and recommendations (as appropriate);
  • Manages the written and editorial aspects of proposals and reports (e.g., content development, readability, consistency, clarity, grammar, spelling, punctuation, sentence structure and formatting);
  • Manages the written and editorial aspects of key communications related to new opportunities or services, or high level corporate announcements (e.g., press releases, announcements, and other print materials according to business needs);
  • Produces high-quality documents and ensures completed proposals meet the bid specifications;
  • Edits text produced by other staff members as related to business development needs;
  • Communicates requirements, deadlines and expectations to key stakeholders and the Business Development team;
  • Works with other Back in Motion staff as necessary to develop project plans, service delivery models, and other business initiatives;
  • Participates in or leads brainstorming for strategic planning, plenary, proponent and other meetings (as appropriate), and distributes summary of meeting to relevant parties;
  • Submits reports as requested;
  • Provides support, direction and mentorship to staff;
  • Communicates with Back in Motion’s strategic partners;
  • Facilitates media relationships and communications;
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 3 years of experience writing successful competitive bids, or work in a related area
  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Policy or Research, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in a professional writing capacity (including technical and marketing writing)

Preference will also be given to applicants who have:

  • Familiarity with funding source expectations and structure is desirable
  • Previous work in health care or employment solutions
  • Prior experience in research or related work
  • Previous experience writing government proposals (e.g., Request for Proposals, Call for Proposals)
  • Previous experience with project management
  • Previous experience with relationship management
