Summary:

The Manager, Marketing Operations is a highly-organized, solutions-oriented manager with proven marketing and project management skills. This role is responsible for managing the Marketing Operations team, and setting and implementing all operational marketing project management process and projects across CSE. This includes screening, planning, production, implementation, and tracking of all projects initiated by stakeholder departments. Responsibilities also include developing and implementing strategic marketing plans for various departments and their initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage the Team:

  • Set and implement standards and processes for project planning and onboarding
  • Hire, Manage & Coach direct reports
  • Ensure Project Management Software is integrated across departments
  • Create effective, solutions-oriented dialog between collaborating departments
  • Report weekly on CSE project list status, volume and flag concerns and recommend solutions

Plan the project:

  • Review Project Submission Forms as received by stakeholder departments
  • Define the scope and priority of the project
  • Create a detailed work plan (in Wrike) which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project
  • Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities
  • Review priority A projects with senior management and all other staff that will be affected by the project activities; revise the schedule as required
  • Formulate and execute tactical marketing & communication plans for applicable projects
  • Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion

Implement the project:

  • Execute the project according to the project plan
  • Work with Creative Department through briefing, design, revision and approvals processes
  • Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project
  • Work with Digital, Content, Game Presentation and external Media Buyer to execute marketing and promotions plan for each project
  • Communicate schedule and updates to key stakeholders
  • Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards

Evaluate the project:

  • Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality
  • Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase

Other Duties:

  • Develop and edit content, copy and script for various marketing and promotional initiatives
  • Various administrative duties

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in project management with a marketing or creative services department or at an ad agency
  • A degree or diploma in commerce, marketing, communications or related field
  • Experience working in media, specifically in the area of promotions and marketing
  • Experience in advertising and the coordination of special events
  • A solid understanding of all forms of media (print, outdoor, radio, digital, and TV)
  • An ability to manage promotional calendars, advertising and production budgets, media inventory, and production schedules
  • Established working relationships with the various media groups in BC is an asset
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills a must
  • Solid work ethic with desire to contribute maximum effort to achieving team goals and revenue targets
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by event and promotions schedule
