Purpose of Position:

We are seeking a Manager, Marketing Intelligence to join our Vancouver office. This position will be responsible for developing and leading the Market Intelligence team, while providing expertise on the local real estate markets for internal and external stakeholders. This role ensures that superior products and critical market insights are delivered to internal and external clients in a timely, productive, and accurate manner.

Operating in partnership with senior management, brokers, and team members, the Manager, Market Intelligence | Western Canada contributes to Colliers’ success through developing key market knowledge and insight with the purpose of differentiating Colliers in the commercial real estate industry.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

Market Intelligence Leadership

  • Lead the market intelligence team to deliver exceptional service and execute flawlessly in partnership with the managing directors, brokers and operations teams
  • Provide mentorship to the Market Intelligence team, building and maintaining a culture of growth, development, loyalty and engagement.
  • Responsible for a variety of people management activities including recruitment, selection, training and performance management for team positions.
  • Maintain a national and international perspective, even when dealing with seemingly local issues related to data collection, analysis and reporting.
  • Coordinate the accurate collection, aggregation, analysis and reporting of key market information from internal and third-party sources for the purposes of supporting business development and reporting.
  • Support all levels of brokerage through market intelligence, market and asset valuation, and the development of insights.
  • Assist in the delivery of market information to various media sources to help increase the profile of the company and the department
  • Interact with brokers and their clients to provide market information and deliverables in an accurate, timely and high quality manner over various asset classes
  • Participate and present market information and financial underwriting in client meetings as required.

Market Intelligence Development

  • Manage the generation of local market publications and comments, including writing of market industry analyses; prepare various materials including but not limited to presentations, dashboards, market reports, white papers, opinion pieces, research studies, etc.
  • Accountable for the sourcing, development and management of data (via CRM+ and other systems) for Collier’ brokerage and client facing needs in partnership with the Colliers corporate and marketing leadership team
  • Oversee and direct reliable reporting, including historical, on all office, retail and industrial properties, including all pertinent physical characteristics as well as information relating to leasing or sale of the properties
  • Respond to external clients and/or media
  • Ensure that the above reporting is managed, produced and maintained through CRM+ and any other appropriate Colliers technologies (e.g. PowerBI, website) as required.
  • Lead meetings to facilitate communication regarding market information, goals, and key dates
  • Monitor and manage turnaround time on requests into the team.
  • Develop new processes to create efficiencies and effectiveness on the team and with the end product.

Required Skills:

  • B. Com, BBA, BA/BS in Urban Planning, Economics, Real Estate or equivalent required and with 5-8 years of related work experience required.
  • 3 years real estate industry experience.
  • Experience in people management.
  • Strong analytical, technical writing and verbal presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills including the ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently.
  • Superior knowledge of commercial real estate terms and definitions.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and identify and execute on practical solutions.
  • Financial training and underwriting experience is considered an asset
  • Understanding of financial statement analysis and cash flows considered an asset.
  • Superior knowledge of Excel, and a strong understanding of databases considered an asset.
