The Manager, Direct & Digital Marketing position is an exciting opportunity within the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver, supporting Great Canadian’s BC marketing teams. Reporting to the Executive Director, Operations Management, Hard Rock Casino Vancouver, this position will be responsible for the strategic planning and development of all integrated multi-channel direct marketing & life cycle marketing initiatives including traditional postal mail & digital methods (email, online, SEO, etc). This position will manage all components of direct marketing campaign development, implementation and measurement. The Manager, Direct & Digital Marketing will ensure that all direct marketing efforts including printed DM, social media, websites, and email work together cohesively to drive revenue growth.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Accountable for the design and development of integrated traditional & digital direct marketing plans and assets to drive promotion awareness
  • Creation of life cycle marketing programs that drive retention & revenue growth, utilizing an integrated communication approach
  • Establish repeatable process and best practices for marketing campaign development and management in the pursuit of marketing excellence
  • Collaborate on strategy, creation of offers, & production of creative collateral
  • Act as advisor on direct and digital marketing to our GCGC property teams
  • Assist in creation of segmentation, targeting schemes, a/b & multivariate tests
  • Ensures direct marketing campaigns are designed to achieve measurable goals/leading indicators of success are defined and managed
  • Oversight of companywide digital & direct marketing initiatives
  • Oversight of companywide loyalty marketing programs
  • Responsibility for the management of websites across all corporate Business Units and/or properties that do not have       in-house marketing management expertise
  • Oversight of companywide social media marketing initiatives & policies
  • Oversight of proofing, monitoring, and debugging of websites for all business units
  • Creation of reporting for digital marketing initiatives
  • Manage creative staff and contract resources as they relate to digital & traditional marketing
  • Oversight of marketing agency relationships and activities as they relate to digital & traditional direct marketing
  • Management of partnerships with BCLC related to direct & digital marketing
  • Develop and cultivate strong working relationships with all stakeholders
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned or directed

Successful candidates will demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree, ideally in marketing or related field
  • 7 - 10+ years of marketing experience with a strong focus on: Minimum of 3+ years in a managerial role, experience in online & integrated/lifecycle email direct marketing, experience in traditional direct marketing, experience in online marketing an asset (web sites & online advertising & social media)
  • Ability to demonstrate strong effective leadership and execution of the vision as it relates to offerings, programs and solutions
  • Ability to analyze and make critical decisions
  • Experience in working with best in class marketing email service providers (Strongview, Exact Target, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS, PHP, Responsive Design, & Web API’s
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite – Specifically Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and After Affects
  • Ability to drive for results and meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Experience with databases and campaign analytics
  • Knowledge of landing page optimization
  • Knowledge of direct response marketing best practices
  • Understanding of web usability concepts and best practices
  • Experience in management of graphic design for digital & traditional marketing
  • Comfortable working in a PC based environment
  • Working knowledge of InDesign & Illustrator, Photography/Video Editing Skills – Final Cut, After Affects an asset
  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible with work schedule (you will be expected to work occasional evenings & weekends)
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Serving It Right certificate
