Job Purpose: To work directly with the Internet Services and Marketing teams, especially the Sr. Web Developer, on existing and future website properties in the areas of content entry, landing page development, HTML coding, CSS styling, WordPress coding, testing, debugging, and Web graphic creation and manipulation. Develop custom WordPress-based solutions using compliant coding methods. Aid other developer(s) with system design and implementation.

Job Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of Web industry trends and developments to improve the features and benefits of Factors Group Web projects and campaigns
• Perform basic WordPress plugin and core maintenance and monitoring
• Provide quality assurance (“QA”) to website components and functions and provide code, test and debug new Web components
• Create responsive Web experiences with PHP, HTML5/CSS3, WordPress, MySQL and jQuery
• Translate Adobe Photoshop Web designs into working WordPress landing pages
• Adhere to coding standards defined by technical management and Web project requirements
• Accurately employ Factors Group approved Web development tools
• Work with Project Manager to establish and meet deadlines and personal work plans
• Contribute to “scope” conversations with development team, project managers and designers
• Integrate feeds from social networks

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience in web development required
• Proficient in WordPress custom coding including working with; “the loop”, functions, custom plugin creation and maintenance, custom post type management
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Adobe Photoshop
• Basic understanding of Google Analytics tracking and reporting
• Experience working with webfonts, especially TypeKit and CSS3 @font-face
• Experience with Web version control technologies such as Git/Github or SVN
• Experience with table-based as well as WYSIWYG HTML email coding
• Demonstrated proficiency using command line/terminal to navigate file structures
• Familiarity with the Agile development methodology using SCRUM preferred
• Familiarity with Gravity Forms or other WordPress form capture software preferred
• Knowledge of PHP frameworks (CodeIgniter, Symfony, Yii, Zend, etc) preferred
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML) interactions preferred
• Understand waterfall and agile project and development process
• Ability to translate basic requirements and User Interface design and convert into database applications to be used both internally and for Web use
