Graphic Designer full-time

Gambling Research Exchange Ontario (GREO) is seeking a Graphic Designer to support GREO’s marketing and communication activities. Working closely with the CEO and Business Manager, this highly collaborative role is focused on growing awareness of GREO through the creation of outstanding traditional and digital communication pieces. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, a quick learner, and have solid design skills coupled with marketing and communications experience, preferably in a non-profit or health services environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain GREO’s visual identity and branding through consistent use and enforcement of the organization’s branding policy and guidelines
Design print material using Adobe Creative Suite, and work with various print vendors to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, timely production
Create effective web content and post in consultation with the web team
Provide subject-matter expertise related to design and branding to all staff
Develop strong working relationships with key contacts for the purpose of developing materials to support and promote GREO’s programs and collaborative projects, including infographics, postcards, brochures, social media images, event invites, manuals, and more
Work with the Business Manager to create GREO’s annual report
MUST HAVE
Post-secondary diploma or degree in graphic design, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Professional-level competence in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Illustrator, including understanding of pre-press best practices and file preparation
Experience designing for print and web, which selected candidates will be asked to demonstrate by providing print samples as well as online examples
Excellent project management skills and ability to maintain strong attention to detail in the face of competing priorities
NICE TO HAVE
Experience incorporating photographs, illustrations, audio/video files, and text into short videos
Familiarity with web content management systems and the ability to advise the web team regarding page aesthetics and user-friendliness
Ability to make recommendations regarding the effective use of digital communication tools (including email and social media platforms) to build brand identity, recognition, and engagement, preferably in the non-profit sector
Demonstrated ability to implement integrated marketing and communication plans
