Overview / Responsibilities

Amec Foster Wheeler is currently seeking a Global Marketing Strategy Manager to join our team in Vancouver, BC. Reporting to the Director of Strategy and Marketing, you will make a valuable contribution as a team player to Mining’s global success. This is a full-time, permanent position requiring energy and enthusiasm with proven marketing analysis and related data management skills. The successful candidate will possess a yes attitude with tenacity and resourcefulness to ensure that obstacles are overcome and targets are achieved.

Strategy & Market Analysis

  • Liaise with Mining Leadership team, research and develop content to support business Line reporting and global Business Development and Strategy reporting (Business Line Performance Review, Board Report, Key Business Line Weekly Summaries, Daily Global News Summaries, Market Intelligence Reports – General and Specific; Competitors, Trends, etc., Key Pursuit report, Sales Funnel Analysis, etc.)

  • Liaise with Leadership Team and Global Functional leaders, research and content to support annual strategic planning and facilitation process; driving conversion of strategic goals into implementation/execution to facilitate business line growth:

    • Draft and implement annual strategic plans

    • Drive continued usage of software for planning action updates and applicable strategic reporting requirements for corporate

    • Liaise with strategic goal sponsors/leads to implement and amend charters as required

  • Working with Director of Business Strategy and BD Global team to win work, identify client targets, innovation and market growth:

    • Support the Global BD team with marketing and global/key account presentations and content

    • Lead, be the super owner of the CRM tool and liaise with Global BD leads and coordinators on key pursuit lead tracking for each of the businesses

    • Communicate internal sales funnel analysis to facilitate awareness and accountability in KPI performance

  • Lead Global Key Account Management program planning and implementation:

    • Participate in establishing strategies and drive initiatives in the pursuit of account KPI targets

    • Facilitate and support strategies for building new business from existing and prospective key clients

  • Streamline and enhance best practices for business strategy:

    • Motivate sharing and communicating market intelligence practice and systems

    • Be the Application Administrator to represent global mining’s interest in CRM system

    • Train and lead technical queries for all Business Line users and liaise with IT system team to solve problems

    • Participate as a member of the Business Strategy team in developing and enhancing group-wide best practices for content management, process and information flow

    • Work with Business Strategy leadership to develop and/or deliver raining to enhance team skills in tools, standard operating procedures, and key account management

Marketing Strategy

  • Provide direction to Communications team that convey internal and external initiatives are impactful, relevant and consistent with business line strategy – influencing creative sales materials, presentations, market recognition campaigns, thought leadership, technical writing and speaking opportunities, events and sponsorships, etc.:

    • Work with Business Strategy, Business Development and Marketing team members to optimize value of sponsorships and conference participation

    • Maximize value for sponsorship/conference investment, as well as post-event follow-up to track event success

    • Utilize design team for development of all creative materials, including advertisements, market recognition campaigns and daily creative requests

    • Work with the marketing team on development and rollout of thought leadership content and client outreach activities

    • Identify, research, analyze and recommend events that will raise visibility of Business Line internally, and externally (seminars, conferences and special meetings, writing and speaking opportunities, sponsorships, and charity-related events)

Skills / Qualifications

  • Graduate of Marketing or Business Analyst degree with technical focus or graduate of an Institute of Technology with appropriate experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in marketing, engineering, market analysis, and/or business development with proven ability to deliver

  • Knowledge of and experience of commodity markets (specifically, mining and metals) is highly desired

  • Experience in analyzing trends is necessary; preference, the trends in the mining industry & market

  • Knowledge of the Mining industry is an asset

  • Global marketing and strategy experience a requirement

  • Ability to quickly identify and develop value propositions and opportunities in materials, content and presentations
  • Proficiency with social media marketing and lead generation an advantage

  • Confident and outgoing with excellent communication, presentation and people skills

  • Demonstrated capacity to build strong relationships quickly

  • Proven planning, organization and data interpretation skills with ability to deliver on a deadline

  • Team player who is used to working with Leadership teams globally and is responsive, accountable and driven to excellence

  • Self-starter with ability to prioritize and multi-task

  • Fully proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM, graphics and data management software

  • Proficiency in a language other than English a definite advantage (Spanish is an asset)
