This is where you come in. We are building our team of digital innovators to catalyze this opportunity. As Marketing Leader for Finning Digital, you’ll be part of the leadership team establishing our go-to-market strategies and executing to drive results. Specifically you will be uniting and aligning three separate global regions (which currently operate with extensive autonomy) to deliver Finning Digital’s marketing program across new product and services from eCommerce, Performance Solutions, Connectivity and other Digital solutions. You will build a customer obsessed and data driven culture that moves with the velocity and agility of a startup but with global enterprise reach and scale. Ultimately, you will be responsible for the budget and operating model for a new marketing organization, with the mandate to build broad digital marketing capabilities, as well as developing the expertise and depth of digital product and channel marketing required to bring innovative solutions to market. Working with global, regional and external resources, your group will build the strategy to launch the Finning Digital brand, values, content and broader context to both internal and external audiences using a broad range of digital channels and media. In addition, your will drive the content, product and eCommerce marketing strategy and capabilities, to develop our online sales channel and bring new digital products or services to market, building new value propositions, focused marketing campaigns, and developing other innovative go to market strategies.

Job Description:

What you’ll do:

  • Develop our Demand Revenue Marketing strategy and roadmap for 2017, aligning our 3 global regions with an execution plan
  • Build and deliver our Global PR Commutations strategy for our investors, 3 global regions and locally within the BC Tech Community
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive global marketing strategy and plan for Finning Digital Organize the function to deliver measurable results against objectives regionally and globally
  • Work in unison with the Finning Digital leadership team and the regional teams to establish and sustain the roadmap for our digital offerings. (This role is accountable, along with other Global Digital Leaders, for delivery of the Finning Digital Annual Operating Plan (AOP).)
  • Oversee the development and execution of customer and competitive intelligence gathering and analysis
  • Lead the creation and execution of annual plans, including program management, content and channel strategy, lead generation, leverage of key digital tools, and financial management to generate demand and deliver with value and impact
  • Work with the broader Finning marketing organization to develop strong relationships, alignment on marketing strategy, leverage of capabilities and ensure there are clear roles and accountabilities across our marketing transformation
  • Develop and steward a strategic co-marketing, integration and leverage relationship with Caterpillar to expanding our reach and traction and support our strategic ‘pole position’ objective
  • Guide the long term marketing roadmap for the growth of the digital products, solutions and channels – and the revenue that goes with it
  • Lead the design and deployment of marketing strategies for eCommerce, Performance Solutions, Connectivity and other Digital solutions – this includes sizing market opportunities, establishing offerings and pricing, and determining roll-outs
  • Ensure Marketing is using best-in-class technology, innovation and approaches to efficiently drive revenue growth and build a brand
  • Keep our products and plans on point by monitoring emerging technologies, internal innovation, customer feedback and stakeholder input to refresh features, products, marketing strategies and the overall Finning Digital strategy (and Finning Digital AOP)
  • Develop branding guides and standards to balance consistent global digital marketing standards with thoughtful localization
  • Establish and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with key community, industry and trade partners so that Finning Digital is a collaborative and well respective organization in the communities where we operate

Who you are:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead marketing strategy and a marketing function to drive business results in a growing technology-intensive customer-focused business; leadership to drive the function at start up and build up the function at the right pace for the business
  • Demonstrated track record of leading strategy development at a corporate/business level; demonstrated ability to deliver results with globally diverse, cross-functional teams
  • Understanding and familiarity with social and digital initiatives. Specifically, an executive with the ability to use these social and digital as a critical avenue to drive customer engagement and revenue creation
  • Has demonstrated creativity in the concept development of innovative and effective marketing programs and possesses the project management skills and tenacity to move major initiatives forward, injecting pace and focus, all the while consistently thinking of the bottom-line impact of the efforts and ensuring that financial targets are met
  • Accomplished at managing and leading both internal and external collaboration. The role requires a hands-on style of leadership, with a proven ability to structure effective teams, quickly establish credibility within the team and the business, and then lead the team to high levels of performance
  • Breadth in marketing, from market and demand analysis, to channel selection and management, to marketing programs
  • Insight to identify business opportunities from a marketing lens, and partner collaboratively with other leaders to develop and implement strategies to create competitive advantage – whether through new products and technologies, innovative partnerships or go-to-market approaches
  • Confident and collaborative, with the ability to work proficiently within a matrixed organizational environment, influence others, and build commitment to a recommended direction. Proven track record of driving enterprise change through collaboration

Education & Experience:

  • At least 15 years’ experience (including 5 at a senior level leading large teams) in marketing leadership in a related B2B digital business such as SaaS IoT/Performance Solutions, or eCommerce.
  • At least 7 years of experience in strategy development/leadership roles
  • Experience in managing and executing successful global marketing functions and programs that have consistently met or exceeded planned objectives
  • Experience in at least mid-sized multinational companies with a track record of demonstrated high performance leadership skills and attributes
  • Degree in a related field, MBA would be highly beneficial
