General Manager, Sales & Marketing Full-Time

We are looking for a senior leader to take on the role of General Manager in Vancouver for one of Canada’s largest media companies. You will be the driver of all sales and brand initiatives across Western Canada and leading teams in both Vancouver and Calgary. This role will continue to build on partnerships with existing stakeholders and will develop new alliances and revenue streams. You will be the face of the organization and will represent the brand to customers and clients.

In this role you will need to be able to:

  • Outreach to the community; promote the organization at events, work with marketing to identify and execute marketing sponsorships
  • Build and sustain business relationships with agency and client representatives – achieve visibility through various industry and company events
  • Coach and develop to improve team competencies in all areas of the sales process including business development
  • Direct and create strategic initiatives to grow market share
  • Plan and implement awareness creating programs to reach out to potential customers
  • Lead and develop all initiatives to drive improvements in sales standards and processes

It would be also helpful if you had:

  • Strong knowledge of the Western Canada media market
  • Experience in driving solutions-based, multi-platform advertising sales
  • Brand management expertise
  • Exceptional and established leadership skills including:
    • demonstrated strategic capability
    • ability to set priorities and maintain team focus
    • ability to accurately assess the competencies and motivators of individual team members
  • Minimum 10 years progressive management experience
  • Proven reputation for leading/executing a client focused team(s)
  • Must demonstrate excellent business judgment/instincts balanced by an understanding of the role and importance of sales measurement
  • A passion for data and technology with the ability to educate clients
  • Established relationships with key agency contacts
  • Strong understanding of industry trends, technologies and pricing models
  • Excellent understanding of agency dynamics and campaign buying and planning
