With this in mind, McMaster University is seeking a dynamic and innovative Executive Advisor, Marketing who will help enhance the brand-identity for one of Canada’s most prestigious universities.

Reporting to the AVP, Communications & Public Affairs, as Executive Advisor, Marketing, you are responsible for leading the creation and implementation of an integrated marketing plan that is strategically aligned to the University’s current, emerging, and future priorities. Supporting the positive development and stewardship of McMaster’s reputation, you will lead marketing initiatives that ensure the University has a strong and differentiated brand so it is better able to achieve its vision, mission, and academic ambitions at a national and international scale. Working to develop consistent and coordinated marketing goals and initiatives, you will collaborate cross-functionally with key stakeholders including the Leadership Team, , Faculty, Students, other University leaders and the University Advancement Office. Externally, you will develop relationships across a wide range of sectors and with a variety of strategic partners to enhance the McMaster brand.

As the ideal candidate, you are an established and successful marketing leader. You are highly regarded for your results-oriented, proactive approach to driving change, facilitating consensus, and creative problem-solving.  You are considered an exceptional communicator, an effective advocate, and a role-model in collaboration, diplomacy, and working in cross-functional teams. You have successfully influenced outcomes in diverse, complex multi-stakeholder environments through superb leadership, engendering confidence and strong judgement. You bring deep expertise in brand development, strategic and integrated marketing, digital and new media, communications, and research and data analysis along with exceptional organizational acumen and project management skills.  It would be an asset to have a strong understanding of the public sector, specifically in a university setting.
