Hours of work: 28-35 per week, flexible (on average) Thursday thru Sunday
Hourly Rate: $25/hour (+4% in lieu of vacation pay)

About Vancouver Bike Share
We operate the City of Vancouver’s public bike share program, Mobi by Shaw Go, and are dedicated to ensuring the highest quality of service for this important transportation option. Through the introduction of bike share to the City of Vancouver, we provide residents a convenient, comfortable, flexible, and affordable way to get around.
It’s our goal to introduce more people to cycling and make choosing to ride a bike as convenient and accessible as possible.
Since inception (2016) we’ve facilitated over 3.5 million trips for more than 213,535 people. Our East Van-based team shares a passion for cycling and all of the benefits that come with it - especially when shared!

Work Schedule
This is a flexible position and can accommodate someone seeking part-time or full-time depending on interest level. Must be available to work specific weekends and some evenings during June and July with increased flexibility and most weekends off in August.
About the position
Moving into our sixth year, we’re quickly expanding and building towards a vision of an active transportation option that benefits more residents and makes e-bikes and pedal bikes accessible to more individuals. That’s right, we’re introducing e-bike share to Vancouver!
The Events & Engagement Coordinator will lead all event activities through the summer season including, coordinating logistics prior to events, communicating with event to confirm our involvement, promoting Mobi by Shaw Go to the public, starting/ending member trips at event locations, setup and teardown, promoting our presence at events on social media, and reporting on the success of events.
This engaged and passionate professional will serve as the face and voice of Mobi by Shaw Go, bridging the gap between the company and the community. The ideal candidate will have a love for Vancouver’s urban environment and recognize the potential that a public bike share system has to make our city a better place.
The role will require enthusiasm when speaking to the public, a passion for cycling and its benefits, and a desire to gain valuable events focused experience in a fast paced and fun start-up environment.
Responsibilities
Event Planning and Logistics
Manage event planning and critical paths to ensure event planning is on schedule
Oversee scheduling, supply management, planning, and other event-related logistics
Attend/host events and perform any of the following:
Set up/Tear down booth activation and maintain quality standards
Engage and network with potential customers in the community
Promote and educate customers on how Mobi by Shaw Go works
Assist people in signing up for Mobi by Shaw Go passes
Assist people wanting to start/end their bike trips at the Mobi by Shaw Go ‘Valet’
Demonstrate bike features, check in/out procedures
Educate customers on how the e-bike works
Distribute promotional materials
Liaise with Operations Team during shifts and keep balancing crew updated on event status (pick up/drop off bikes)
Marketing, Communication, Promotion and Social Media
Lead on communication and marketing for all events in this role’s portfolio with the support of the Marketing Manager
Produce engaging and creative marketing materials with assistance from the Marketing Manager
Identify ways to reach out new audiences and engage with potential customers
Generate ideas and help create content for social media, newsletter, and blog based on field experiences
Reporting
Develop and report on KPIs for all events attended

Required Skills and Experience:
Minimum one year of experience in sales and/ or marketing OR minimum one year of experience in events, customer service, etc.
Class 5 or Class 7 “N” drivers license
Capacity to problem solve and remain calm under pressure
Ability to be a team player & work independently
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Experience interacting with very large, diverse groups of consumers of all age ranges
Ability to engage audiences in a meaningful way and enjoy social interaction
Excitement and interest in bike sharing
Ability to work various shifts, as assigned
Cultural competency with regards to engaging diverse communities
