Career opportunities that make a world of difference!

Christian Children's Fund of Canada (CCFC) is a Canadian-based, registered charity that creates a future of hope for children, families and communities by helping them develop the skills and resources to overcome poverty and pursue justice. For over 50 years, Christian Children's Fund of Canada has served the poor regardless of their faith, cultural or ethnic background, – breaking the cycle of poverty and replacing it with a cycle of self-reliance. Working with local communities, other NGOs, and local governments we focus our efforts on five key priority areas: Healthcare, Education and Training, Water and Sanitation, Micro-Enterprise Development and Self-Sustainability.

Christian Children's Fund of Canada is currently filling the following position: Director, Strategic Communications

CCFC is currently seeking a high-energy, results-oriented, and seasoned strategic communications generalist who has a passion for strategic communications, a track record of measurable results, and is committed to personalized client service. This is a leadership role charged with building and executing an integrated communications and digital engagement strategy across multiple stakeholder groups.

Reporting to the Vice President, Fund Development and Communications and leading a team of two direct reports, you will be required to build CCFC’s brand awareness, visibility, and recognition across a mix of media platforms resulting in consistent and relevant engagement of key audiences, including donors and stakeholders. As part of the organization’s six year strategic plan (2013-2018), you will lead the major rebranding project, including the overall strategy and launch activity. You will also provide general communications support and guidance to Communications Managers located in the six countries where CCFC works and sit as Canada’s communications expert at the Child Fund Alliance International body of which CCFC is a member.

As a conceptual, strategic, and creative thinker, you will bring with you at least 10 years of proven experience in communications, PR strategy, planning and implementation, media relations/social media, and project management, of which five years has been in a senior management position. Critical to your success will be a deep understanding of brand value and the mediums in which to engage with key audiences, business acumen to connect communications with revenue goals, along with the ability to lead and inspire teams to high performance. Agency experience is considered an asset.

CCFC is seeking a candidate with an optimistic attitude who supports CCFC’s vision, mission and Christian values, including a commitment to child poverty alleviation. Some experience in the non-profit sector, and knowledge or work experience in the international development sector are considered assets.
