Starling Minds’ mission is to make affordable and effective mental health care accessible to everyone. We sell our Workplace Mental Health Platform to organizations as an on-demand, 100% digital Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) solution so that there are minimal barriers for employees to access evidence-based support while they are struggling at work, or off-work due to a physical or mental health claim.


Summary of Role We’re looking for a results-driven product marketing professional who is passionate about the intersection between mental health, innovation and technology. As a key member of our Marketing team, the Director of Product Marketing will be responsible for developing strategic product positioning, conducting market research, and evolving our go-to-market strategy using key market insights.

Core Responsibilities



1. Market Research and Analysis

  • Conduct market research to understand leading topics and trends in our markets and spot differentiators to capitalize on

  • Complete win and loss reviews to spot compelling events and market needs

  • Synthesize inputs from all stakeholders into market assessments that drive the highest possible revenue for the business

2. Competitive Analysis

  • Conducting competitor analysis

  • Provide battlecards for positioning to win against identified competitors


3. Positioning and Value Proposition

  • Shape communications, value proposition & product positioning using competitive information, market and product analysis

  • Identify the product features to spotlight and empowers the sales team with clear value statements

  • Understand buyer personas and markets and what each role in the buying process needs and values


4. Sales Enablement

  • Explain benefits of product features via customer-facing messaging

  • Develop product demos, scripts, and presentations that communicate our solution’s unique selling proposition

  • Support sales through tools, training and market expertise to ensure their ability to effectively position and sell products is optimized

  • Select the appropriate pricing strategy for our products and provide ROI tools to clearly articulate the business value


5. Go to Market Strategy

  • Identify a coherent marketing strategy for the product

  • Provide guidance throughout the lifecycle of the product, ranging from minimum viable products to fully mature products

  • Develop and guides launch plans


Skills and Requirements

  • 7+ years product marketing experience

  • 2+ years experience working in a start-up environment

  • B2B SaaS experience

  • Strategic marketer with ability to execute (hands-on researcher)

  • Accomplished public speaker with strong presentation skills

  • Outstanding skills to analyze markets and identify trends and opportunities

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Collaborative leader who is highly confident and competitive

Nice to haves

  • Experience in health tech

  • Previous experience managing a team

Job Details

  • Reports to: VP Marketing

  • Full time permanent position, 40 hours per week

  • Location: Starling Minds’ head office is located in Vancouver, BC. All roles are currently working from home, however in post Covid-19, this role can work from home, work from our office, or do a mix of both.
