Reporting directly to the Senior Director of RCI Communications, the Director of Communications for Channels and Content will lead a team of internal communicators to evolve Rogers main internal channels and create a real-time content strategy to drive a deeper connection between employee communication and top quartile business performance. This leader is responsible for the following day-to-day activities:

  • Create a compelling channel and content strategy that reflects the dynamic, real-time environment of today’s telecommunications industry
  • Oversee the ongoing management of company intranet; making it the ‘go to source’ for employees – driving readership and overall effectiveness
  • Advance internal communications from professional, strategic communications to a facilitator of dialogue that drives business outcomes and employee engagement
  • Lead a strategic, compelling editorial agenda for employees that builds pride, drives engagement and performance
  • Evolve how and what we communicate to reflect the young, dynamic nature of our workforce including multi-media and web 2.0
  • Work closely with entire corporate communications team to source content and drive a real-time communications agenda across the organization
  • Develop a strong working relationship with channel partners in Information Technology, as well as agency/third-party vendors to drive maximum performance
  • Manage and provide guidance to 4 communication and intranet professionals
  • Help create a content management team model
  • Manage employee engagement strategy and execution during issues and crisis communications
  • Motivate, inspire, develop the skills and build a team to deliver best-in-class communications
  • Manage assigned budget
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10-12 years of experience in the communications industry, developing and executing targeted strategies
  • Strong internal communications background and understanding of intranet and digital platforms
  • Proven experience leading a Communications team, with the ability to work independently
  • Impeccable communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Proactive approach and creative problem solving skills
  • Great collaborator and team player who likes engaging others
  • Strong and proven experience fostering relationships with executives, partners, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
  • High capacity; able to juggle a large volume of projects with shifting priorities
  • Ability to thrive in a high pressure, real-time environment
  • Possess excellent time-management and organizational skills
