Galderma Canada Inc. requires an experienced, dynamic, and strategic Director, Aesthetics Business Unit, to develop and direct marketing and sales strategies, and objectives and policies of the business unit, to ensure our aesthetics portfolio of products attains the number one position in Canada. Tactically, digital product strategy, medico-marketing and brand refocusing will be the critical focus areas required to achieve the business unit’s objectives. The role will plan, direct, and coordinate the efforts of senior marketing and sales personnel toward the accomplishment of objectives.

The role will also serve as a key member of our international aesthetics business network, partnering with international markets to address challenges, and identify and drive market opportunities, supporting the overall achievement of the company’s aesthetics objectives on a global scale. This is a senior executive position, reporting directly to our General Manager Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the lifecycle and all stages of the Aesthetics and Alastin products and directing and leading the activities of the Aesthetics Business Unit in Canada – inclusive of Sales, Marketing and Clinical Training.
  • Fostering a leadership culture, which attracts, develops and retains high caliber staff, helping to build and shape the business to drive the future success of the organization.  Ensuring BU has optimal organizational structure, processes, and communication.
  • Reviewing, overseeing and approving all strategic plans derived from global goals.  Approving sales forecasting activities, targets and performance goals accordingly.
  • Creating and executing plans with respect to the product line or business unit, research and development, clinical, marketing, financial planning, and process development, operations, and/or manufacturing.
  • Owning primary responsibility for profit and loss accountability of the business unit.  Owning business unit’s budget ensuring delivery of all activities within agreed budget.
  • Attending Galderma Canada Sales Meetings, National and Regional, and local conferences as required. Representing the business unit at global office meetings. Engaging home office support and collaborating with other heads of functions (marketing, compliance, commercial operations, medical affairs, and/or human resources) to maximize business growth and compliance.
  • Fortifying and maintaining relationships with key account owners/heads.  Overseeing product quality and customer service goal attainment at the business unit level.
  • Directing and indirectly managing as few as 50 employees in assigned unit.  Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, approval, and evaluation of this unit. Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Job duties and responsibilities will be performed in English, and conversational French is also required.

Skills & Qualifications

  • International commercial, marketing and/or sales leadership experience in Aesthetics – minimum 2 years.
  • In-depth knowledge of the aesthetics industry, market trends, and competitive landscape from a global context.
  • A bachelor’s degree from a local or international university in business or marketing, or related field. MBA or Master’s Degree in Marketing or equivalent an asset.
  • Completion of, or in progress of completing an executive leadership training program, demonstrating a strong understanding of leadership principles, strategic thinking, and effective decision-making.
  • Sophisticated understanding of international aesthetics and medical device markets, including market mechanisms and rules, reimbursement/pricing policies, relationship management with key organizations and authorities and regulatory affairs.
  • At least two years of experience developing and implementing robust marketing strategies, with a specific focus on digital product strategy and brand refocus portfolio across international markets.
  • Experience managing business unit budgets, profits and losses.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement short and long-term marketing and/or sales strategies that drive hyper growth.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis, market research, and using insights to drive informed decision-making.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams, as well as managing direct reports, establishing clear expectations, providing coaching and feedback and assessing and evaluating performance.
  • Proven track record of effective people management including coaching, motivating and development planning.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively in English. Ability to communicate in French.
  • Ability to travel overnight as needed, estimated up to 30%.

Other Information

This position is permanent and full-time and will be based out of our business address located at 55 Commerce Valley Drive West, Suite 400, Thornhill, Ontario, L3T 7V9.

The salary range for this position would be between CAD$190,000 and CAD$230,000, depending on experience level. You will be eligible to receive a discretionary annual bonus, company pension plan, relocation bonus (if required), as well as standard company benefits including extended health care, vision, dental, disability, paramedical, life insurance and AD&D.
