Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Operations and Communications, the Digital Communications Coordinator assists the Student Success and Engagement (SSE) division in establishing, implementing and maintaining a digital communication strategy aimed at increasing student awareness of the support services available to them at Humber. In consultation with the SSE leadership team, the incumbent will ensure high standards for the quality, functionality and relevance of digital communications created by the SSE division while maintaining a strong visual aesthetic. The Coordinator will provide ongoing training and support for SSE staff responsible for producing digital content to ensure cohesive branding and design across all channels.

Core responsibilities include: developing and maintaining all components of the digital communications plan including video series’, photos, websites and social media campaigns; ensuring alignment between departments while planning and co-ordinating digital content that is relevant to the student calendar cycle; providing technical expertise, recommendations and support to ensure that SSE is forward-thinking and innovative in its use of technology; ensuring information security and accessibility standards (AODA, WCAG 2.0) are met.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a 4 year degree, preferably in Communications, Marketing or a related field. A minimum of 3 years progressive experience identifying and addressing client needs using digital communications. Demonstrated experience aligning digital communications strategies with department/organizational goals is required. Familiarity with the student life cycle and/or experience working within Student Affairs, will be considered an asset. Certification in Project Management, Web Development or Multimedia Design and Production, will be considered an asset.

Technical qualifications include: experience using digital videography and photography for clear and succinct storytelling with the associated understanding of lighting, lens selection, shot composition, cameras and equipment; advanced proficiency with Adobe CS - Premiere Pro, After Effects, Lightroom, Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop; experience using Drupal 7+ CMS and fluency in web languages and platforms e.g. JQuery, JavaScript, HTML, Adobe Master Suite CSS, PHP, MySQL; working knowledge of digital analytics platforms including Google Analytics, Facebook Insights and Hootsuite
