As the Creative Manager, you are responsible for strategically interpreting overall brand goals for creative across all platforms. Working alongside the Senior Creative Director, you will be responsible for leading the design of seasonal campaigns, social media, video content, and brand with a focus on News. You will inspire, lead, coach and manage the creative team throughout the creative process from collaborative conceptualization to launch.

Your Role:

  • Develop and drive strategic seasonal creative campaigns, acting as the decision maker while collaborating with a team of designers, copywriters and other internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development of overall brand strategic goals and ensure departmental goals are aligned.
  • Support CBC / Marketing & Communications goals by executing on short to mid-term departmental goals (1 year).
  • Direct team development of inspiring and innovative concepts for seasonal campaigns.
  • Lead the adjustment of project goals and design revisions on the fly as necessary to adapt to changing situations to meet established schedules.
  • Effectively communicate project status to internal and external partners, updating senior leaders as required.
  • Inspire an agile environment while empowering direct reports to problem solve and pivot project goals as needed.
  • Remain current in market and industry trends to ensure innovation and relevancy.
  • Stay current in market and industry trends to aid in the development of cutting edge marketing, design concepts and user experience.
  • Ensure the execution of team deliverables and adapt team priorities based on changing needs.

You have:

  • A College or University degree in a related field or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of related experience.
  • Creativity to recommend alternative options for creative, production and budget planning.
  • Creative problem solving is required in all areas of this position to devise ways to apportion a limited resource base across multiple projects, with changing needs, deadlines and priorities.
  • Experience in production planning, budgeting and cost management.
  • Knowledge of CBC policies, collective agreements, systems and practices, broadcast operations or equivalent is an asset, but not required.
  • Great oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Excellent problem solving and judgment required.
  • Openness to diverse perspectives and ideas and differing points of view is critical.
  • Excellent negotiation skills required.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team throughout the creative process.
  • Ability to work under pressure in an environment with changing requirements and deadlines.
  • Sound decision-making skills are required on a daily basis in order to meet production and creative objectives.
  • Travel may be required on occasion.
  • A portfolio may be requested at the time of application.
