Key Responsibilities of a Country Manager:

  • Overseeing the acquisition, engagement, and retention efforts using a variety of marketing techniques while understanding and maximizing the lifetime value of our customers
  • Communicate the website’s brand values and identity through multiple channels including working with the company’s public relations and social media specialists
  • Manage & analyze critical data surrounding channel sales performance
  • Develop messaging and positioning to maintain competitive differentiation and market leadership
  • Highlight marketing opportunities based on market insights and competitive activity - intimately understand customer needs, sales successes/challenges, and root causes
  • Drive targeted marketing efforts such as glasses promotions and sale campaigns that offer compelling experiences to our customers
  • Create a long term growth strategy for the Australia, New Zealand and UK Markets
  • Research and identify new opportunities for media planning and purchasing to distinguish the organization as the clear leader in online optical goods
  • Measure and analyze new and existing customer sales performance
  • Manage pricing and develop strategies to maximize margin
  • Create sales reports for members of the Executive Team and organization in addition to quarterly presentations
  • Exercise flexibility in a constantly moving, young, emerging company that requires adaptability under changing market conditions and new information
  • Thrive among strong colleagues who value creativity and curiosity
  • Dive in head first with a willingness to take on any task needed at any level to elevate the company to great heights

Characteristics of a Successful Candidate:
• A minimum of 5 years experience in a brand or product marketing role
• Strong business and financial acumen (preferably in an online environment)
• A related university degree is required
• Superior analytical and problem resolution skills
• Extensive online advertising experience, including in-depth knowledge of:
o SEM
o SEO
o Email Marketing
o Data-feed/CPC
o Affiliate Marketing
o Display/Banner Ads

Prime Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive background in on-line marketing and retailing, and launching new web brands
  • Make recommendations to senior leaders and influence decisions by creating business plans and developing options with relevant analysis
  • In depth knowledge of the optical market would be considered an asset
  • Experience with online channel optimization and resource allocation based on cross channel performance comparison
  • Experience and background in brand or product management
  • Proven ability to execute successful marketing and promotional campaigns
  • Overall experience in driving sales through an on-line channel
  • Proven ability to resolve issues by developing and analyzing solution options
