Overview: Engage consumers and build communities through creative, innovative and well-integrated consumer-targeted communications

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the marketing team to develop strategic marketing communications plan: develop content strategy and editorial calendar
  • Develop and execute our fan recruitment, engagement, and activation strategy; integrate activities of sales and marketing team in all communications
  • Post daily to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram. Write weekly blog posts and monthly Enews
  • Build the Steam Whistle community: Positively respond to consumer questions / comments.  Research and engage key influencers. Plan regional market visits
  • Set and track key performance metrics. Monitor and report on brand conversations within the social space. Tabulate consumer surveys and report. Engage with consumer panels to encourage feedback on brand activities
  • Monitor social feeds
  • Leverage value-add with communications partners to garner incremental media impressions. Assist with media relations, particularly in the digital space
  • Monitor trends in social and digital media tools and applications and apply that knowledge to increase traffic, word of mouth and brand value; Identify opportunities for consumer engagement

Experience and qualifications:

  • Customer-focused approach with ability to build relationships, verbally and on-line
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • 3 years’ experience in consumer marketing and/or public relations
  • PR/Communication or business-related degree preferred
  • Practical experience and extensive knowledge of social media platform, digital marketing and analytics (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, You Tube, Google and blogs)
  • Creative and innovative, collaborative team player, self-motivated and goal-oriented, driven and eager to succeed. Ability to adapt in an ever-changing work environment
  • Strong analytic skills
  • Fluency in French an asset
