Position Objective

As the Community Outreach Coordinator you will be responsible to actively engage our community of partners; including our ambassadors, social partnerships and community events. Cultivate meaningful relationships with real people and influencers based on an understanding of their interests. Support initiatives that are meaningful and relevant within the community, which include health and wellness, local food and sustainability. You will be responsible to manage the communication of these initiatives across multiple social media channels.

Key Responsibilities

General Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of SPUD’s Community Outreach program, including working with existing and potential external partners and organizations
  • Develop relevant programs that capture the attention of our community stakeholders in a positive meaningful manner
  • Create meaningful relationships with new ambassadors in SPUD market area
  • Provide support to our partners and awareness to all our partners and ambassadors
  • Manage all Community Outreach communication through social media including recipes, health tips, and nutrition information – to be used in SPUD blog posts, social media campaigns, and in communications to the existing community
  • Coordinate recipes, health tips and wellness information with ambassadors to share with SPUD’s members
  • Share new projects and programs that SPUD is creating with Ambassadors, to engage and invite their feedback on growing the overall community around local food and wellness

Cross Functional Responsibilities

  • Work as a team player with all team members and departments
  • Have a voice and share your ideas and thoughts

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience in the health and wellness industry
  • 3 to 5 years experience in working closely with external partners
  • 2 or more years experience in a social media or community manager role

  • Post-secondary education required

  • Ability to collaborate with a extremely charismatic e-commerce teams

  • Be enthusiastic, self-starting and detail oriented

  • Schedule posts, and engage with online community using Hootsuite

  • Must be able to multi-task and manage time independently

  • Excellent storyteller and wordsmith

  • Valid drivers license

  • Knowledgeable about natural foods and local food systems
  • Knowledgeable and able to speak to the latest information on health, wellness and nutrition
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Effective communicator across all channels
  • Degree, Diploma in business or marketing communications
