Job description

Gevity seeks an experienced Communications Specialist for full-time employment as a consultant within the Gevity team. We are open to applicants based anywhere in Eastern Canada (Ontario, Quebec or the Maritimes). Applications from candidates seeking full-time employment or occasional freelance work will be considered.

As a Communications Specialist, you will lead communication and public relation engagements for Gevity clients. You may also be asked to support Gevity Corporate communications activities.

Required Knowledge & Skills

To qualify for a position within Gevity as a Communications Specialist, you must possess the following knowledge and skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in relevant Communications, Public and Government Relations or Marketing field
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in healthcare, health informatics or non-profit
  • Broad industry experience in health IT;
  • Ability to develop communication strategies and tactical plans
  • Ability to write a broad range of documents (e.g. press releases, briefing notes, marketing materials)
  • Ability to plan and coordinate media and publicity events
  • Experience working with stakeholders at all organizational levels;
  • Ability to foster effective teamwork to set goals and resolve problems and ensure project is delivered to the client’s satisfaction.

Assets:

The following will be considered strong assets for this role:

  • A University diploma in in Communications, Public Relations or related discipline;
  • An ability to travel for work;
  • Proficiency in French, written and spoken.
