What can I expect to do in this role?
In this role, you will:
- provide leadership, consultative services and expertise in writing, planning and developing integrated and strategic communications plans
- provide project leadership and strategic advice in the development, planning, coordination and implementation of cluster initiatives and events
- manage the cluster's website and participate in the cluster's Web Content Coordinators' Committee
- develop a range of communications products for various cluster events and initiatives, including brochures, signage and employee recognition items
- provide communications support and advice to program staff and management
- organize functions, such as town halls, conferences and trade shows

How do I qualify?
Communications Management Experience
- you have knowledge of research techniques, journalism and editorial practices, writing styles and techniques in order to effectively communicate, design and present information
- you know communications and marketing theory, techniques, planning methods and practices in order to assist staff in clarifying communications objectives and develop communications strategies
- you can interpret and apply cluster, I&IT and ministry business, mandate, legislative framework, policies, programs and business goals
Web Design and Support Skills
- you can develop and manage a website, provide advice and training and develop standards for utilization, consistency and to evaluate effectiveness
- you understand visual identity standards and publishing procedures and principles
- you can ensure easy access to online materials and that the materials reflect the desired image and positioning of the cluster
- you know web design software (SharePoint), writing for web standards and web design principles
- you know design principles and desktop publishing software, such as Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, to design, write and publish printed documents
Leadership Skills
- you have the initiative and ability to work independently and lead work as part of a team in a high pressure environment
- you can discuss and resolve issues, build and maintain good relationships with management and staff, lead and represent the cluster on project teams
Communication Skills
- you can develop a variety of communications materials, convey information in a clear and concise manner and provide hands-on expertise and advice to staff and management
- you know how to use email, word processing, presentation, desktop publishing and spreadsheet software as well as operating scanners, digital cameras and projectors
Analytical Skills
- you can develop and recommend effective communications plans and develop communications procedures that promote an understanding of policy and program initiatives
- you can manage projects, research and set priorities to manage various concurrent projects
- you can organize, plan and coordinate in order to set your own time lines and meet tight deadlines
Salary Range:$61,397 - $85,839 per year
