Are you inspired by realizing efficiencies and improving direct and digital marketing tactics?  The Assistant Manager, Direct & Digital Marketing position is an exciting opportunity within the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver, supporting the Great Canadian’s BC marketing teams. Reporting to the Regional Director, Marketing, Hard Rock Casino Vancouver, this position will be responsible for the strategic planning and development of all integrated multi- channel direct marketing and life cycle marketing initiatives including traditional postal mail and digital methods. This position will manage all components of direct marketing campaigns including development, implementation and measurement.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the design and development of integrated traditional and direct marketing plans and assets to drive promotion awareness and ROI to the site
  • Creation of life cycle marketing programs that drive retention and revenue growth
  • Act as an advisor on direct and digital marketing to our GCGC property teams
  • Collaborate on strategy, creation of offers and production with the site Marketing teams for creative collateral for Direct Mail
  • Assist in creation of segmentation, targeting schemes, A/B Tests for Direct Marketing
  • Work with the Regional Director and assist with the project management of direct marketing initiatives across GCGC properties
  • Developing strategies to leverage and maximize loyalty program(s), including Encore Rewards across all GCGC properties
  • Manage research driven initiatives to effectively inform marketing efforts, including situational and competitive analysis and consumer insights
  • Work with and manage the Digital team in assisting with all GCGC’s property web sites
  • Conducting ROI analysis for property-specific advertising, promotional and online marketing initiatives - with the assistance of corporate marketing analytics team and the onsite digital team
  • Liaising with operations to report on site marketing results
  • Oversight of marketing agency relationships, creative staff, contract resources and activities as they relate to digital and traditional direct marketing
  • Management of partnerships with BCLC related to direct and digital marketing
  • Liaising and communicating effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Developing and cultivating strong working relationships with all stakeholders
  • Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned or directed

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3- 5 years of marketing experience with a focus on email direct marketing and traditional direct marketing
  • Managerial experience required and is an asset
  • Collaborative (solicits input to improve/enhance strategy and development)
  • Working knowledge and expertise with traditional and non-traditional media and advertising
  • Knowledge of Ethnic Media landscape considered an asset
  • Experience in working with marketing email service providers (Strongview, mail chimp, etc.)
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite- Specifically Photoshop
  • Experience with databases and campaign analytics
  • Knowledge of landing page optimization
  • Knowledge of direct response marketing best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong team leadership qualities
  • Organized and efficient with managing project deadlines
  • Excellent computer literacy with strong competency in PowerPoint and Excel (specifically in budgeting and ROI analysis)
  • Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, advertising or business management required
  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible with work schedule (expected to work occasional evenings & weekends)
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Serving It Right License
  • Ability to successfully obtain a criminal record and credit check through the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB)
  • Have access to reliable transportation
