Electronic Arts, the world’s leading independent developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software for mobile, personal computer, and advanced entertainment systems, is looking for an experienced writer to join our dynamic marketing organization, within the Content Strategy and Editorial department. As a writer, you will create content and messaging directed at current and future customers, helping to deliver copy that brands EA as a leading entertainment company. The writer works alongside the Editor In Chief, Copy Chief, designers, and others to help craft creative content from initial concept through final product.

Responsibilities:

  • Craft copy for a wide variety of channels, including websites, blog posts, and more, focused on the EA SPORTS FIFA franchise
  • Collaborate with other team leads, product marketing managers, and creative leads from cross-functional and cross-company teams across the full EA organization to develop great creative
  • Think strategically about long- and short-term content campaigns
  • Develop plans and content calendars
  • Draft a wide range of other engaging player copy as needed
  • Contribute to planning stages of content strategies and procedures
  • Work closely with Editor In Chief and Copy Chief on style and writing development
  • Proofread all copy before submitting to manager, other departments, and before public release
  • Copyedit marketing plans, proposals, and other materials as needed

Required Skills/Personal Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience in crafting copy, editing, and proofreading
  • A web presence and experience creating content for the web
  • Demonstrated FIFA football savvy and a keen interest in the sport of football/soccer and in staying current with topics and trends
  • Deep player knowledge of the EA SPORTS FIFA franchise
  • An interest in games and a high regard for our target audiences
  • The ability to self-manage while incorporating feedback from multiple departments
  • Solid communication skills – must be able to communicate ideas solo and within a team setting
  • Must be comfortable making changes to work based on manager and client feedback
  • An obsessive attention to detail
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Adaptability to changing circumstances and deadlines
  • Able to deliver high-level copy in a rapid manner
  • Familiarity with consumer testing is a big plus
  • The ability to work hard and have fun all at once
