We are currently looking for an Web Designer to join our growing web team at our downtown Toronto studio. You’ll help us design beautiful and effective websites and ecommerce shops for a wide variety of clients.

At TWG, a successful Web Designer is a collaborative creative thinker and detail-oriented UX & UI designer with experience creating responsive websites and e-commerce experiences. You tailor your work to achieve the business goals of your clients as well as demonstrate proven success in leading the design execution of beautiful web and ecommerce experiences from whiteboard to launch  - and beyond.

About the Job

Responsibilities

• Lead design strategy for a wide variety of clients
• Conduct user research, rapid prototyping and user testing of designs
• Lead brand creation and re-branding exercises with a focus on digital-first usages
• Take a “problem-first” approach to planning effective and performant design strategies for the web
• Design marketing and e-commerce websites using platforms including Shopify and Wordpress
• Work closely with our clients and partners to successfully manage their projects
• Proactively address client issues in order to deliver the highest levels of customer satisfaction
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, designers and QA analysts

Core Requirements:

• Experience creating and defending best-in-class design and user experience solutions for clients
• A love for the right processes: user & market research, moodboards, site maps, user flows, wireframes, prototyping, style guides, user testing and more
• Experience building custom user journeys and effective conversion funnels
• A passion for great website and e-commerce  design, and a desire to produce the best digital design work in the industry
• An informed understanding of best-practises for e-commerce and marketing conversion
• Experience designing for CMS products like Wordpress and Squarespace
• Experience designing for Shopify storefronts
• A solid grasp on content strategy and content production
• Experience creating brand identities and guidelines across various media (with a focus on digital)
• An understanding of current accessibility guidelines for the web (WCAG) and designing with those standards in mind

Nice to Have

• An strong grasp of SEO and SEM best practices
• A thorough understanding of front-end development and (nice to have) experience building front-end experiences yourself (CSS, HTML, Javascript)
