Position Summary:

Reporting to the Senior Director of Business Operations, the Web Designer/Developer produces compelling web pages, desktop and mobile application UIs, online adverts and PR collateral. This position requires a formal education in web design.

You are an ideal candidate for this position if you have previous experience in web or application design and development, a strong portfolio illustrating your creative ability, and a willingness to collaborate to create outstanding designs.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with other Marketing team members and Project Managers to ensure designs are consistent with business goals, customer expectations and overall project goals
• Work with senior members of creative team to develop skills
• Design and implement high quality web and application graphics, web pages and other creative collateral based on corporate standards
• Update and implement collateral based on feedback and leadership of senior members
• Effectively translates and elaborates existing mockups into subsequent creative collateral
• Design user interfaces in collaboration with senior team members that demonstrate an understanding of business goals, customer needs, and the company’s overall communication strategy through the use of wireframes and other tools
• Combine design theory and take into consideration content, navigational structure and usability issues to create a powerful and integrated website experience
• Develops site and application content and graphics, including the design of images, icons, banners, and video, by coordinating with marketing and other designers
• Works well under pressure, feels comfortable with following direction and has the ability to balance great design within project schedules and tight deadlines
• Able to cover as necessary for senior web and UI designer in such roles as management of outsourced design

Skills/Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in in web development or related field, with 1-2 years’ experience in Web design - exceptional graduates will be considered
• A portfolio of your design work that demonstrates creative flair (web design, software interfaces, online media, etc) must be supplied
• Microsoft Office and OS environment experience
• Web design skills which will include the ability to edit HTML and CSS
• Understanding of HTML5
• Solid knowledge of CS3, CS4 or CS5 Adobe's Creative Suite of products including: Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver
• Knowledge of JavaScript and PHP would be a bonus
• Content Management System experience, WordPress preferred
• Knowledge of current web design trends, image optimization and best practices
• Must be highly motivated, detail oriented, self-starter, who can handle tight deadlines and simultaneous multiple projects
