Job Description

Resorts of the Canadian Rockies Inc., is looking to fill a full time position of Web Designer / Developer at our Calgary office. The ideal candidate will possess strong design skills in addition to strong technical skills including HTML, CSS, and JAVASCRIPT. Good knowledge of ASP, ASP.NET, VB.NET, IIS and SQL will be asset. This is a designer/programmer position with the possibility of some conventional press work as well.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Requirement analysis, design and development of new web sites including graphical as well as programming tasks
  • Development of mobile applications
  • Develop new features and maintain existing code
  • Integrate customer facing web sites with internal line of business applications
  • Follow secure coding best practices including vulnerability assessments and risk analysis
  • Developing, customizing, and maintaining relational databases
  • Website analytics and reporting
  • Working on special projects as assigned

Required Skills

In addition to a team orientation, the successful candidate should have:

  • A relevant university degree, college diploma, or technical certificates
  • 2 - 5 years of related experience in developing and supporting websites
  • Great design skills using a combination of Dream Weaver, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Sound knowledge of Web-based applications: HTML/JavaScript,  CSS, ASP.NET
  • Programming: ASP, ASP.NET, Javascript, SQL, VB Script, ADO.NET
  • Relational Databases: SQL Server 2000/2005/2008
  • Mobile development experience an asset

This position requires excellent oral communication skills with the ability to explain and discuss design and programming issues in a manner that can be understood by non-technical persons.
