The VP, Agency Head, will take over the North American creative services team and reshape and expand it into a high-functioning in-house creative agency. This new position, which is based in Vancouver, B.C., represents a unique opportunity for a talented leader on the rise to run a start-up agency within a highly influential and respected information company.

The creative services team helps the practice units within Ipsos market to clients better and develops the corporate sales and marketing materials, staff communications and brand identity materials Ipsos uses in the U.S. and Canada. The writers, designers and digital, video and print production specialists who comprise the team are part of AMP, the newly rebranded marketing services unit of Ipsos in North America.
In taking on this new position, you will put your stamp on a new organization that will play a key role in igniting growth and setting new aesthetic standards for the professional product of one of the largest professional services companies in North America.
You will report to the SVP, Marketing, North America, and work closely with the CMO. You will work in partnership with the Operations Director, who will oversee campaign execution, database management and administration, and with the Director of Editorial Strategy, who leads our earned media and content development efforts. You will be a key member of the Ipsos marketing leadership team.
Most importantly, you will work directly with the business and marketing leaders of the practice units to help them translate their business objectives into strong creative programs. In effect, You will be the planning director, creative director and head of client services for this agency – responsible for its product and relationships. Not surprisingly, we are looking for a true talent on the rise.
- At least ten years of agency experience, including experience as a creative or client management supervisor
- Exceptional client management and team building skills
- Ability to judge and direct the development of excellent creative work
- Strong strategic and consultative skills
- Ability to express critical views clearly and persuasively
- No patience for “good enough”
- Digital chops
- Considerable charm
- Proven individual creative skill, ideally in writing (narrative) or design
- Collaborative, collegial style (but “pushovers” need not apply)
- Some grasp of marketing, research and advisory services content
- A large and curious brain, with two working lobes (creative and quantitative) and the ability to reduce and simplify without “dumbing down”
- Strong college education, liberal arts preferred
