We are looking for an individual to establish and manage activities that ensure appropriate quality and compliance processes for raw materials and finished goods are developed, implemented and executed to meet Arcteryx customer expectations related to technical design, construction, measurement, colour, quality, safety and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Education: Diploma in engineering, quality assurance or related

  • 5+ years apparel industry experience in a quality management role

  • Significant experience in a leadership capacity within a quality management role

  • Significant experience executing supplier audits and coaching suppliers for certification according to ISO 9001 and PPE Guidelines

  • Technical writing skills, working knowledge of statistical tools, familiarity with garment/fabric test methods and auditing processes

  • Experience in factories and mills and extensive knowledge of apparel industry supply chain flows

  • Experience with analytical Quality Assurance systems

  • Well organized, excellent critical thinking and analytical skills, results oriented, with a systematic approach to problem solving

  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated decision-maker who easily interacts with others and is adept at leading and motivating a team

  • Proven ability to coach and train new and existing employees

  • Strong influencer to manage up and lead cross functional teams

  • Fluent in written and spoken English

  • Ability to travel

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Develop quality strategies and processes that will ensure appropriate oversight, testing, product sampling, and documentation, is completed according to business calendars and provided to appropriate internal and external personnel

  • Lead a team of Quality Assurance, Technical and Documentation specialists to assure accurate, efficient and transparent management of quality assurance operations, including controls from advanced R&D, materials sourcing, design, and product commercialization to manufacturing, auditing/testing/releasing procedures, as well as product labeling and packaging

  • Develop full understanding of testing and performance results required by Arcteryx along with specific product legal requirements mandated by various states, countries and key partners, including but not limited to restricted substances, safety, performance, textile and customs compliance

  • Partner with Amer Sports Materials office in Taiwan to ensure brand coordination with Materials Compliance Program (restricted substances, regulatory compliance, greener materials, and supporting testing)

  • Ensure the adoption of clear quality standards by cross functional teams both internally and with Arcteryx global team partners

  • Develop and communicate quality risk management strategies to continually identify, assess, evaluation and limit quality risks throughout the product lifecycle

  • Develop an appropriate strategy for product evaluation post launch including customer return/warranty, B2C experience and utilize feedback to drive product quality performance

  • Develop and maintain tools to communicate quality performance utilizing data from internal and external sources to understand trends in all areas of quality performance

  • Challenge existing ways of working in pursuit of opportunities for quality improvement and cost reduction

  • Stay current and apprised of changing international legislation, guidelines and best quality practices

  • Support the sourcing, assessment and training of new factory resources and ensure that Arc’teryx brand standards are met and efficient best practices are continually reviewed at factories

  • Ensure adequately trained and experienced personnel are in place at all locations to meet departmental objectives
