About the Company:

Drive Digital is an award-winning digital agency based out of Yaletown, Vancouver with offices opening in Toronto and New York. We work with some amazing brands (Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, Choices Markets, Clio, Fountain Tire) and are sister-agencies with 6S Marketing, one of Canada’s leading digital marketing agencies.  And we are hiring a Senior Developer to join our Vancouver office.

Job Duties:

• Consult with project manager and clients to determine technical specifications and requirements for the website
• Work closely with the UX team, in order to be able to read and understand mock-ups and be able to build UX friendly websites
• Code front-end architecture that works across all browsers, is responsive and dynamic using Javascript, HTML5, CSS3, AngularJS, WordPress and other CMS’s
• Plan, design, write, modify, integrate and test website related code
• Conduct tests and perform security and quality controls
• Lead and co-ordinate multidisciplinary teams to develop website graphics, content, capacity and interactivity
• Extract copy and design assets for use in project development from Photoshop or Illustrator
• Research and evaluate emerging web technologies
• Transfer technical knowledge/train junior developers
• Interface directly with the client on certain issues, and work with their technical teams

Qualifications:

• 3-5  years’ of front end development experience
• Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Systems, Engineering, or a related field
• Solid Javascript, HTML5, CSS3 skills
• Ability to write Vanilla Javascript, without the help of libraries (jQuery)
• Experience with  MV* Frameworks (Angular, Backbone, React)
• Experience with Bower, Twig and Handlebars, SASS, Grunt
• Experience with PHP and server side templating
• Experience working with Wordpress.  Working knowledge of other open source CMS’s like Drupal, Magento etc. is a plus
• Proficiency/expertise with Photoshop and Illustrator, and previous design experience
• A solid eye for detail, with the ability to develop websites that closely match mockups. Previous design experience is a required.
• A solid understanding of SEO, usability best practice and UX design
• Solid understanding of responsive design, and experience building fully responsive sites
• Comfortable speaking directly to clients, and to their IT teams
• May train junior staff
• Strong English communication skills
