POSITION SUMMARY

Assume the leadership role in the management of a masterbrand spanning several categories, demonstrating proficiency in overall business, communications, and team management skills. Manage day to day work, including ongiong analysis, written reports, communication, presentations and project management. Set the long term strategic vision and short term direction for the brand(s), including financial goal setting, innovation pipeline, and ongoing execution of in-market activities.  Achieve volume, market share and profit targets.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS SUMMARY

  • Develop a strategic vision for the brand(s), including brand strategy, communication strategy, innovation strategy, and tactical plans.
  • Influence and gain alignment from key stakeholders to masterbrand vision, strategy and plans.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders including Corporate, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Executive Committee and external business partners.
  • Regularly communicate business updates (including business review, brand plans, innovation plans, etc.) to Executive Committee through meetings and formal presentations.
  • Lead and implement brand innovation strategy. Develop and execute marketing plans on new product launches and lead long-term new product pipeline.
  • Develop thorough annual business reviews with indicated actions leading to development of marketing plans and 3 year business strategies.
  • Utilize market and consumer insights to evaluate business on an ongoing basis, identifying issues, developing solutions and recommending action plans
  • Execute marketing programs including advertising, promotions, retail and new product initiatives.
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with internal and external team members and external agency partners.
  • Work closely with Sales and trade team to execute on marketing strategies.
  • Manage consumer spending budget for brand(s). Full proficiency of P&L and key drivers that can be affected.
  • Develop and present briefs/programs/plans to external agencies and senior management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, MBA an asset
  • Minimum 5-7 years marketing experience, preferably in consumer packaged goods
  • Strong presentation, project management and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrate proficiency in both strategic thinking and attention to detail
  • Solid experience working with teams, preferable cross-functional teams
  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently
  • Some travel required
