Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director, Public Relations and Marketing Manager as well as the Director, Sales & Marketing, the PR & Marketing Specialist will provide daily support and be a contributing member of an extraordinary Marketing & Communications Team. Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
For PR & Marketing:
- Maintain hotel and outlet websites and liaise with corporate office to keep online content and assets up to date
- Prepare monthly marketing, public relations and social media reporting
- Plan, manage and oversee photo/video shoots including pre and post production
- Support Director, Public Relations with visiting media programs: reservations and personalized itinerary details, arrange VIP amenities, and co-host media dinners and events when required
- Coordinate distribution of e-newsletters, direct mail and email campaigns
- Contribute to creative brainstorms and communications strategic planning
- Prepare internal resume documents to communicate event, project and press trip details with operations teams
- Provide regular departmental status updates and circulate communications meeting notes
- Prepare and maintain hotel press kit with relevant press releases and photos, ensure online press rooms are kept up to date, and maintain media database and distribute weekly media calendars
- Liaise closely with community and charity outreach programs to execute events
- Online Reputation Management – track and provide timely responses to reviews and keep online review sites relevant with up-to-date outlet and hotel information
- Research competitive products and evaluate product characteristics, market share, pricing, and advertising
- Execute individual tasks of Marketing Plan and other duties as required
- Assist with creating content for social medial: copy, photography, ideas & concepts
- Work with internal teams to gather information needed for monthly promotions; seek feedback from internal teams to make necessary revisions
For Director, Sales & Marketing:
- Process invoices from vendors, create purchase orders, and keep marketing budget up to date with changes.
- Manage Procurement System and expense forecasting
- Accrue, forecast and control Sales & Marketing expenses including Divisional Budget, Marketing Budget, Travel & Trade Budget
- Prepare monthly sales & marketing expense commentary
- Support DOSM in the annual Sales & Marketing expense budget planning
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Marketing/Communications
- Minimum 2 years’ previous experience in a marketing/communications role
- The communications trifecta: excellent written and verbal communication skills, highly organized and detail-oriented, and above all, a team player.
- Highly motivated self-starter capable of delivering on a diverse range of projects, often involving tight deadlines and competing priorities
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and HTML
- Proven organizational planning and project management skills
- Digital marketing and social media experience an asset
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
