Mediaplanet Publishing is seeking a freelance editorial print designer to work in-house to work ongoing several projects per quarter (every 3 months) to assist the production team (work is dependent on how many campaigns are submitting per month). Mediaplanet is a full service content marketing firm that specializes in cross media campaigns launching in print, digital, social, and mobile. We provide our readers with insightful and educational editorial in the fields of their interest that motivates them to take action. Our editorial approach highlights a problem, inspiring readers to seek a solution with help of the organizations and brands involved. Through these campaigns clients can speak directly to industry-specific audiences and influencers in a voice that is relatable and trustworthy. Our campaigns are content marketing tools created in partnership with influential celebrities, journalists, associations and thought leaders. We cover underrepresented issues and bring content to our clients’ target audiences
The freelance designer will collaborate with the lead graphic designer and project manager to design content marketing campaigns from start to finish. Campaigns are printed within leading Canadian newspapers and magazines such as Toronto Star, Macleans’ Magazine, National Post, etc.
Candidates must own and use their own laptop with Adobe Creative Suite installed and ready to use. Candidates will be required to work within our Toronto office during print production periods from start to finish (Productions last 3 days in total).
The ideal candidate is used to working under pressure, with short deadlines and quick turnaround times, operating as an individual as well as part of a team with the ability to problem solve quickly. As well, they must be highly organised with an eye for detail and have great communication skills via email, phone, Skype and in person. Print production experience is a plus. Strong editorial and typographical design skills are essential.
