We are seeking a mid-level, versatile, experienced image editor/graphic designer with a strong proficiency in Photoshop and the entire Adobe CS software package. The ideal candidate should have expert level skills in Photoshop among other techniques pertaining to digital image editing. Candidates should be skilled in photographic and collage techniques. Skills in InDesign, Illustrator and an understanding of typography and layout/composition are also recommended. The Digital Imaging Specialist will be responsible for comprehensive editing of lifestyle images as well as large format graphics pertaining to our product development. Accordingly, product development experience will be considered an asset.

The position requires the ability to understand the specific aesthetic of photography and printed graphics to be able to elevate any selected original image to meet or exceed our standards for brand level content. The position requires the ability to balance organizational tasks with production skill to ensure efficient throughput of assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Photorealistic retouching skills (home interiors)
  • Take images from un-retouched files to clean and crisp final images
  • role involves colour correction and digital manipulation of images for printing or archiving.
  • have excellent computer skills in a Mac environment
  • be skilled in image-manipulation and image-management software
  • be familiar with other design software, including InDesign and Creative Suite
  • have an understanding of geometric ratios and perspective
  • have a keen interest in photography and a strong visual awareness
  • have good colour vision, and the ability to assess accurately the colour, density and contrast level of images
  • Color correction, lighting, composition for comps• be able to interpret instructions accurately
  • be able to work methodically under pressure without compromising quality
  • pay close attention to detail
  • Familiarity with Camera Raw interface
  • Understanding and ability to edit in multiple color profiles

Qualifications

  • 5+ years skill set in Photoshop.
  • Background in commercial photo retouching and composite work
  • Expert level skills in Adobe Photoshop
  • Photorealistic retouching skills (home interiors)
  • Experience with photo manipulation
  • Must have working knowledge of Color Correction based on RGB color space and conversion to CMYK to meet printing industry standards for reproduction.
  • Must have an understanding of Color Theory and color correction by the numbers.
  • Must be extremely organized and committed to producing quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Works well collaborating with production and graphic designers
  • Prepress Specialist is preferred and a Photography/Graphic Art Degree is desired.
  • Video Editing experience using Premiere is a plus.
  • Thorough understanding and interest for tile/stone industry
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to clearly communicate with individuals at different levels.
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently on projects with minimal supervision.
