Media Planner, Automotive Certified Service Full-Time

As Media Planner you’re the day-to-day focal point to the account. You’ll have day-to-day responsibility for assigned accounts and will be expected to have an understanding of the client’s overall business and marketing objectives. You’re the steward of the tactical communications planning process and provides mid-level strategic recommendations to the senior media team and/or client. As the Media Planner you’ll have a strong working knowledge of the media space (including digital media) and available media research. You’ll be an active participant on the business; consistently engaged and contributing ideas and insights that will benefit your clients.


Media Planning and Execution:

  • Aids in the creation of client media objectives and strategies
  • Determines channel selection, partner selection and program details and rationale
  • Assist in developing buying strategies for maximizing media dollars, and handling media negotiations
  • Authors documents relating to the plan (must be able to create media brief and RFP from client input)
  • Creates and maintains media plan flowcharts and media buy authorizations based on client’s various initiatives
  • Maintains media budgets or media spend summaries
  • Help develop media plans specifically investigating sites, special opportunities and positions
  • Understands available targeting technologies
  • Understands general planning and activation capabilities of all available digital media tactics (Social, Search, Video, ,Mobile, RTB, Display)

Client & Internal Relationships:

  • Manage day-to-day client interaction
  • Manage expectations of clients and deliverables
  • Works closely with the client throughout entire program to maintain performance and resolve any performance issues
  • Assist Digital Supervisor in advising clients on best ways to integrate media into their advertising and marketing programs

Strategic Thinking & Leadership:

  • Works with management team (Supervisor/AMD/Media Director) to develop strategies for media plans/buys
  • Shares new and relevant advertising opportunities in written and verbal form to the media department
  • Strategizes ways to most effectively use digital media dollars to the greatest benefit for our clients
  • Assess problems and concerns in a systematic, logical and rational manner
  • Proactively resolve issues, know when to and to whom to escalate
  • Capable of managing multiple deliverables and ability to seamlessly transition among them


  • Bachelor’s Degree or in relevant field of study and a minimum of 3 years of media planning/buying experience, some focus on Digital would be ideal
  • Thorough understanding of the media process, media department and inter-department relationships
  • Media vendor negotiation experience
  • Experience using DoubleClick Dart and AtlasDMT adserving technologies
  • Experience with research tools such as comScore, Dynamic Logic, CCS, Competitive tools (Evaliant/Nielson)
