Reporting directly to the Managing Broker of Sotheby’s International Realty Canada’s Calgary office and indirectly to the Vice President of Marketing, the Marketing & Graphic Design Coordinator, Calgary will lead the graphic design, production coordination and marketing for Sotheby’s International Realty Canada’s Calgary and Alberta offices.

Our ideal candidate has 3-5 years of graphic design, production coordination and copyediting/proofreading experience, and has the ability to deliver high-quality and accurate work while juggling multiple deadlines. Excellent client service and strong project management abilities are a must, preferably in a real estate brokerage or agency environment. Graphic Design & Production Coordination

Design and manage the production of marketing materials for over 50 sales agents in Calgary/Alberta from concept through to pre- & post-production.

· Design quality marketing materials reflecting of Sotheby’s International Realty Canada brand standards and corporate identity guidelines:

o Print advertisements

o Property brochures

o Feature sheets

o Postcards

o Email blasts

o Listing presentations

o Signage

  • Provide design and layout support for corporate marketing materials where required
  • Ensure accuracy of all proofs and submissions, including proofreading/editing
  • Manage pre- & post-production, ensuring high quality production and timely delivery of all marketing materials
  • Ensure that deadlines are met while providing professional, friendly client service

Co-operative Advertising Graphic Design & Program Coordination

Ensure all co-operative print, magazine and online banner ads, are submitted “on-time” and “on-brand”, by providing scheduling, project coordination, graphic design, proofreading and quality assurance support:

  • Actively promote and encourage agent participation in local print co-op advertising programs
  • Communicate and reinforce deadlines/brand requirements to all agents while maintaining the highest level of client service
  • Collect, organize and make quality control edits to all source materials from agents
  • Negotiate extensions/ad booking changes directly with media as required
  • Ensure accuracy of all print ads- proofread ads against agent booking forms
  • Ensure accuracy of all proofs and submissions, including proofreading/editing
  • File ad booking forms and ensure accurate agent billing

Brand Advocacy and Training

Inspire pride and knowledge of Sotheby’s International Realty Canada’s brand, marketing programs and technology platform within the Calgary/Alberta team:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of corporate identity standards, brand support materials, marketing programs and technology and ensure these are considered in marketing initiatives
  • Conduct brand orientation and marketing training sessions with agents to familiarize them with marketing and technology resources, tips, tricks and tools
  • Provide agents and staff with timely answers to questions on corporate marketing initiatives and brand standards
  • Work directly with new and existing agents to ensure brand compliance of their websites and marketing materials
  • Work with agent’s third-party graphic and web designers as required to ensure delivery of brand compliant agent marketing materials

Local Marketing Initiatives

Work with the Managing Broker and local market leaders to develop new marketing initiatives that will expand brand awareness and presence in Calgary and key markets in Alberta. This may include:

  • Special events and partnerships
  • Community fundraising
  • Expanded advertising/ co-op marketing opportunities

Production and Supplier Management

· Maintain a network of approved suppliers to support local marketing needs and ensure their approval through Sotheby’s International Realty Affiliates (where necessary), including:

o Signage/hoarding producers

o Photographers

o Videographers

  • Ensure quality and cost effectiveness of all suppliers
  • Ensure optimal utilization of and Xpress Docs where appropriate
  • Order and track signage, riders and other marketing materials for agents and the office as required

National/International Marketing Program Support

· Support national and international marketing, communications and public relations initiatives as required


  • A minimum of 3-5 years graphic design experience in a client-oriented environment, preferably in an agency or real estate brokerage setting
  • A design portfolio demonstrating aptitude for typography, layout, grid and the ability to reflect/interpret a brand within corporate identity and brand standards
  • Competency in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Flash and experience in HTML. (CSS an asset.)
  • Great communication skills, a passion for client service and the ability to communicate professionally and diplomatically, even in challenging situations
  • Desire and enthusiasm for being an active contributor to, which will require a combination of leadership, and willingness to roll up sleeves to “get things done”
  • Interest and ability in speaking and presenting in front of small groups
  • Solid writing, editing and proofreading skills in English
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities calmly and professionally
  • Basic skill level in MS Excel (including formulas and spreadsheet manipulation), MS Word and MS PowerPoint
  • Completion of post-secondary certification in graphic design required
