Candidate Profile

Our work in the community is only possible because of the support of our donors, volunteers and community partners. The ideal candidate for this role will bring Product Marketing expertise to effectively communicating community impact in a manner that is tangible and meaningful to donors and corporate partners. The role emphasizes communicating impact, building agency relationships and optimizing processes. The ideal candidate for this role will thrive in a fast-paced environment, as part of a highly-skilled Marketing team.

Summary Of Duties And Responsibilities

Communicating Value and Impact

  • Develop and deliver highly tailored promotional content for donor presentations and report- back content for corporate segments, media, and general public
  • Use data and research to support story development to highlight UW products, creating marketable, compelling content Write cases for support, foundation proposals and stewardship reports in conjunction with other departments as needed
  • Write compelling and persuasive copy external communication pieces, reports and strategy documents

Product Marketing

  • Develop product marketing strategies and individualized plans, including key objectives, targets and performance measures
  • Determine key target audiences and communication channels for products, and develop required marketing tools, ensuring they are consistent with United Way brand

Agency Relations

  • Work in partnership with our community partners to create a greater sense of awareness

Optimizing Process

  • Evaluate, identify and develop tools to achieve operational efficiency


Education:Two year diploma in marketing or communications, or equivalent


  • Five years’ experience as a marketing communications specialist. Extensive experience in developing marketing communications strategies, diverse writing experience developing and producing marketing collateral materials, strong presentation skills
  • Must have superior written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
