Canadian Western Trust (CWT) is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Marketing & Communications Specialist to join their team in our Cambie location.

Under the direction of the Manager, Marketing and Communications, the CWT Marketing and Communications Specialist will be the lead contact responsible for several critical CWT internal and external communications channels and initiatives. The Specialist’s primary function within those channels is to schedule content, research collateral and resources for that content, copywrite content, and post that content they create through CWT’s various content management systems or distribute it through email campaigns. Although not a technical role, many of the Marketing and Communications Specialist’s responsibilities will require more than a simple familiarity with Content Management Systems and HTML.

The right individual will possess an uncanny ability to write creative and effective advertising and communications copy, and will consider their attention to detail (i.e. proofreading and visual brand compliance) to be one of their most notable strengths. Additionally, the Marketing and Communications Specialist will provide administrative and functional support to the Manager, Marketing and Communications, including campaign support, event planning, collateral management, and stakeholder support.

Responsibilities:

  • Advance internal solutions for optimizing client, sales lead, and contact management (internal CRM).

  • Manage and maintain the integrity of workflow processes and conventions within the department, and promote similar processes where the Marketing Department interacts with other departments (i.e. file versioning, sign-off processes, etc.).

  • Be the lead contact in the Marketing Department to manage and oversee the maintenance of the department’s production calendar.

  • Under the guidance of the Manager, Marketing and Communications, lead the department’s inbound, email, and website marketing, for both CWT’s internal and external stakeholders.

  • Support the Marketing Department with the planning, coordination, and execution of internal and external events.

  • Create, schedule, coordinate, and execute new and regular internal CWT teambuilding and informational events.

  • Plan and execute partner marketing events, including coordinating venue details, catering, collateral logistics, invitation and attendee management, and day-of execution.

  • Provide administrative and functional support to the Manager, Marketing and Communications, and the Marketing Department in general, including:

  • In general, assist the Marketing Department with its primary strategic goal of building additional funding sources for CWT.

  • Act as the in-department lead for coordinating CWT’s RFP responses.

  • Under the guidance of the Manager, Marketing and Communications, support the Business Development Team with the editing and creation of PowerPoint presentations and presentation packages.

  • Provide the Marketing Department and Leadership Team at large with ongoing market analysis and research, including measuring Marketing Department campaign effectiveness and deploying follow-up surveys.

Working at CWB means…

  • Treating all stakeholders with professionalism, dignity and respect and supporting an environment where people can contribute and excel

  • Demonstrating strong interpersonal skills that contribute to working effectively in a diverse working environment

  • Accepting responsibility and accountability for actions and results

  • Making decisions guided by common sense and sound business judgement

  • Preparing and regularly reviewing annual goals and career development plan with your manager, and your direct reports

  • Promoting cooperation and commitment within the CWB Financial Group.
