Marketing & Communications Manager

Sureway Construction and our subsidiary companies are currently looking for a talented and experienced Marketing & Communications Manager in Edmonton. Sureway Construction Group is a varied mix of companies specializing in land development, heavy civil construction, aggregates, and industrial minerals. Sureway is looking for someone with the desire and ability to represent our many different brands by developing and providing critical marketing strategies for each company, as well as, other vineyard assets in the Kelowna, British Columbia area.
In this role, you’ll work closely with leadership to support the creation of scheduled marketing, communications, and community engagement plans in support of Sureway’s brand and culture. You’ll provide leadership and expertise to senior management, as well as, guidance in establishing the company’s position in target markets. You’ll look for creative ways through a mix of marketing, communications, and community engagement to achieve business goals for revenue growth, profitability, and market leadership. Your ability to establish a vision, strategic objectives, and measurements for performance will ensure your success in this role.
This role requires someone who has the experience to develop and execute the strategic direction related to marketing, communications, and community engagement in an effort to establish Sureway’s desired position with both internal and external audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing
Partnering with senior leadership to develop an annual integrated marketing plan to support the creation, implementation and management of marketing communications activities designed to generate product and services awareness laterally with brand identity to drive opportunities and stimulate growth for the organization. You will do this using a mix of marketing tools including advertising, client events, media, community investment, professional and business associations and events, social media, conferences/tradeshows, and other activities as defined.

Communications
Provide counsel to senior leadership on all internal and external communication strategies, messaging, and issues management to help align and drive Sureway’s brand and culture. Develop strategic communications to help initiate business, and provide direction and support on all matters related to public relations.

Community Engagement
Continue Sureway’s community engagement strategy and develop ways that support business objectives, aims to make lasting connections in the community, and differentiates Sureway from competitors.

Financial / Budgeting
This position will be responsible for reporting on marketing initiatives and the management of the marketing budgets. This will include continual review and analysis on marketing, communications, and community engagement expenditures.

Credentials:
• Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or an equivalent level of experience
• Minimum 7 - 10 years of progressive experience
• Organized with exceptional prioritization and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe suite is an asset
• Experience in the construction, or related, industry is an asset
Location: This full-time position is located at Sureway Construction headquarters in Edmonton, Alberta.
