Marketing Communications Manager Full-Time

Spartan Controls is searching for a dynamic and creative individual for the position of Marketing Communications Manager.  Reporting to the VP, Oil & Gas, you will be responsible for the successful development and execution of marketing communication strategies that support the achievement of Spartan’s overall business objectives.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute marketing communication strategies
  • Lead a small team of marketing specialists focused on delivering to a comprehensive marketing communications plan
  • Provide expert digital marketing and social media knowledge for developing and building a successful digital and social media program focused on ‘creating an exceptional customer experience’
  • Manage and evolve Spartan’s brand including overall responsibility for standard templates and marketing materials used throughout the company
  • Support content development for Spartan’s external website
  • Keep up-to-date on emerging channels and make recommendations on best course of action
  • Work closely with all sales, business development and business unit leaders to develop strategic communications and marketing materials with a strong solutions focused approach
  • Delivery solutions focused content in a variety of media
  • Collaborate with IT to assist in the development and leverage of new technologies for communication, promotion and marketing, leveraging analytics

Qualifications & Skills

  • Post-secondary degree in Management, Marketing, Communications or related field is required
  • Masters degree in Communications/Marketing is an asset
  • 8-10 years of experience in a senior marketing / communications role
  • Leadership capabilities, self starter, innovator
  • Experience in the process automation industry or related industry or is an asset
  • Solid understanding of marketing principles and customer first thinking
  • Experience and expert knowledge of mobile, online interactive and social media tools, techniques and best practices
  • Superior writing and communication skills with the ability to create technical product and solutions marketing materials
  • Demonstrated knowledge of graphic design principles, layout and production
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Entrepreneurial work ethic
