Port Metro Vancouver is Canada’s largest and most diversified port. Reporting to the Manager, Business Development the Marketing Communications Coordinator builds awareness and support for the Port’s business plan and related strategic initiatives by implementing PMV’s marketing communications program. This includes coordinating and assisting with the implementation of marketing communication activities, media planning, business collateral development, business sponsorships, trade show planning and participation and other communications activities as directed. You will assist with:

  • The development, implementation and evaluation of the marketing communications program, in support of the PMV’s business initiatives across the PMV’s five business sectors, including autos, break-bulk, bulk, container and cruise, and consistent with PMV’s customer and outreach framework. Assist with the development and implementation of initiatives to ensure effective presence in the business sectors.The development and tracking of business-to-business media plans. Write and produce content for commercial audiences, and coordinate cargo sector communications.
  • The development of promotional and electronic material in multiple languages for distribution to business audiences and posting on PMV website. Coordinate integrated sector print communications material including marketing folders, terminal and sector spec sheets, project summaries and inserts, and presentations. Maintain content on PMV website sections to support business initiatives.
  • The development of the business sponsorship program and coordinate activities as required. Coordinate communications opportunities with marketing partners and terminal operators, and liaise with Port stakeholders on assigned promotional activities. Coordinate and attend business trade shows.
  • Coordinate the logistics and assist with the planning of special events including opening ceremonies, harbour tours, receptions, port participation in business sector events, port-hosted conferences, etc. Coordinate the production of events, budgets, critical path time-lines, invitations, collateral materials, signage, bookings, hospitality, entertainment, transportation, security and emergency procedures, and staffing needs. Research and recommend appropriate event protocols.

As the ideal candidate you have  a two-year full-time diploma in communications or marketing along with a minimum of two years related experience. You will also have experience in developing marketing communications plans and producing business communications collateral to support internal and external communications. Basic understanding of website principles is desirable.
