Position Overview:

Reporting to the Business Manager, this position is responsible for providing a range of marketing and sales assistance to assigned Marketing Consultants to expand the presence of Canada Life products in the marketplace.  In addition, the successful candidate will provide quality customer service, develop and maintain ongoing relationships with MGA (Managing General Agency) and National Account customers.


  • Assist with and/or prepare product illustrations upon customer/consultant request.

  • Assist with and/or prepare Sales Strategy illustrations as required.

  • Assist with the creation of new product presentations or customizing existing presentations based on requirements as discussed with Marketing Consultants/Business Manager/RVP.

  • Provide occasional on-site and over the phone training to advisors/back office staff on Canada Life procedures, RepNet, concourse software, product, etc.

  • Assist the Marketing Consultants with planning and coordination of product training sessions, sales seminars and road shows.

  • Troubleshoot on behalf of customers/advisors/marketing consultants on new business, underwriting, compensation and contracting issues/inquiries as required.

  • Issue continuing education credits in accordance with Provincial guidelines.

  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all Canada Life product lines.

  • Ensure Brand compliancy and privacy guidelines.

  • Maintain competitive intelligence of other carriers’ products.

  • Work strategically with assigned Marketing Consultants to achieve maximum results.

  • Manage miscellaneous regional marketing centre projects and events.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Post-Secondary degree or equivalent, preferably with a degree or diploma in Business or Marketing; a combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Strong computer aptitude in Word, PowerPoint and Excel preferred.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated customer service skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment.

  • Preference will be given to individuals with or pursuing industry related courses (i.e. LOMA).

  • In-depth knowledge of Canada Life Individual products and software (concourse) would be a definite asset.
