We’re growing quickly and looking for an Image Curator to join our team of incredibly talented designers and marketers. We’re looking for someone with a keen eye for design, photography, and anything beautiful to build and maintain an inspiring collection of images produced by international talent.

Based out of Liberty Village, Toronto, we are focused on developing online products that improve the lives of creative professionals. Our flagship product, Format.com, is an online portfolio platform that enables anyone to professionally showcase their body of work to peers, clients, employers, and the world-at-large. Format is used by tens of thousands of creative professionals in over 140 countries worldwide.

As an integral part of the design-focused team, the Image Curator will be responsible for curating images for our suite of products while maintaining consistency with the Format brand. They are passionate about finding that perfect image and using it to narrate a unique point of view. They are resourceful, inquisitive, organized, creative, and can skillfully navigate their way through the abundance of amazing images and photographs available at their fingertips.

Responsibilities:

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with creative professionals from around the world who use Format’s suite of products

• Continuously seek out emerging and established talent

• Curate and select images for Format’s suite of products, including Format’s weekly online magazine, marketing material, and social media

• Research and post content on Format’s weekly online magazine

• Manage, edit, proofread, and update Format Spotlight images

• Thoroughly review all community content posted on our products to ensure that it adheres to our content guidelines and policies

• Catalogue images and keep records

• Assist Design and Marketing department with ongoing projects

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1-2 years experience in a creative/artistic/editorial/art buying role or have a curatorial background (art, art history, photography, design)

• Have a pulse on and appreciation for the art and design world

• You are exceptionally creative, with a discerning eye and meticulous attention to detail, and have a curated portfolio to share with us (Tumblr, Pinterest, etc.)

• Have an aptitude for research

• You’re resourceful and collaborative in nature

• Articulate in oral and written communication

• Extraordinary interpersonal and relationship management skills with the confidence to develop partnerships

• Familiarity with Format’s brand image and suite of products

• You are technologically savvy and have the ability to quickly master new tools and technology
