Specific Responsibilities and Duties:

• Design and produce print collateral
• Design web collateral Develop advertisements for print and digital publications;
• Select and hire subcontractors such as printers and photographers. Coordinate and art direct photoshoots;
• Prepare and present recommendations for clients;
• Provide design direction for clients;
• Research client target markets;
• Manage student intern;
• Assist with the evaluation and evolution of the university brand standards and logo guidelines;
• Ensure all brand standards and logo placement are followed; and
• Closely edit and proofread all work.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Three year graphic design diploma or equivalent;
• Minimum three years work experience in graphic design in the private or public sector;
• Demonstrated software expertise in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Powerpoint, Quark Xpress;
• Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate and deliver numerous graphic design projects within short timeframes;
• Superior design, layout and pre-print production skills;
• Demonstrated experience in target market research and client management;
• An ability and willingness to keep graphic design skills current;
• Prepared to learn new software and recommend new technology
• High level of creativity;
• Strong communication skills – written and verbal;
• Highly organized
• Renowned for meeting deadlines;
• Attention to detail and strong proofreading skills;
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving ability; and
• Ability to work both independently and within a team.
