Sotheby’s International Realty Canada is looking for a technology-savvy graphic designer/marketer and all-around-nice person to support our Oakville/Mississauga sales team. As the Graphic Designer/ Regional Marketing Manager – Oakville/Mississauga, our ideal candidate has at least 6-7 years’ experience in graphic design and marketing services, and the ability to deliver high-quality work while juggling many clients and deadlines. This position will be based in Sotheby’s International Realty Canada’s Oakville office, with regular travel to Toronto and Mississauga.

Real estate brokerage experience is a significant asset, but isn’t essential if you have genuine interest in the industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Managing Broker and Marketing and Graphics Manager, Ontario, your responsibilities will include:

Graphic Design & Production Management

- Design and manage the production of print, event and digital marketing materials for real estate professionals in multiple offices across the Oakville/Mississauga region, from concept through to pre- & post-production. This involves template-based and custom design and concept development of materials including:

o Print: ads, property brochures, property feature sheets, just listed/sold postcards, listing presentations, signage, brochures

o Digital: email blasts/templates, website templates, online banner ads

  • Manage pre- & post-production, ensuring high quality production and timely delivery of all marketing materials.
  • Ensure accuracy of all proofs and submissions, including proofreading/editing.
  • Ensure quality and cost effectiveness of all suppliers, work with agents’ third-party graphic and web designers to ensure high quality delivery including: printers, photographers, videographers.
  • Coordinate all print production (in-house and sourcing external suppliers) as required.
  • Use (and support sales team usage) of email management systems (e.g. Constant Contact, MailChimp etc.)

Regional Marketing Program Management

  • Manage advertising and marketing plans for the Oakville/Mississauga region, including plans for individual listings and agents.
  • Support the development of local digital marketing plans.
  • Actively promote and encourage agent participation in local print and digital co-operative advertising programs.
  • Ensure all co-operative print, magazine and online banner ads, are submitted “on-time” and “on-creative”, by providing scheduling, project coordination, graphic design, proofreading and quality assurance support.
  • Communicate and reinforce deadlines/brand requirements to agents while maintaining the highest level of client service.
  • Collect, organize and make quality control edits to all source materials from agents.
  • Write/edit ad copy and develop new marketing pieces based on contemporary global brand campaigns.
  • Ensure accuracy of all proofs and submissions, including proofreading/editing.

Agent Brand and Technology Training

  • Inspire pride and knowledge of the Sotheby’s International Realty Canada brand, marketing programs and technology platform by providing regular brand orientation and marketing training sessions for agents to familiarize them with marketing and technology resources, tips, tricks and tools.
  • Provide professional, friendly and deadline-conscious support to agents.
  • Provide agents and staff with timely answers to questions on corporate marketing initiatives and brand standards.
  • Work directly with new and existing agents to ensure brand compliance of their websites and marketing materials.
  • Work with agents’ third-party graphic and web designers to ensure delivery of brand compliant agent marketing materials.

Production and Supplier Management

  • Identify Sotheby’s International Realty Canada approved suppliers to support local marketing needs and ensure their approval through Sotheby’s International Realty Affiliates, including: printers, signage/hoarding producers, photographers, videographers.
  • Ensure quality and cost effectiveness of all suppliers.

National Marketing Program Support

- Support national and international marketing, digital, social media and public relations initiatives, such as:

Social media marketing (including management of Facebook/Instagram ads) and/or content creation and curation (copy, photos, video) to enhance regional presence on social media.

Copy editing/ copy writing.

Involvement in technology releases, development, testing and training.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Min. 6-7 years graphic design experience in a fast-paced, client-oriented environment, preferably in an agency, real estate brokerage or professional services environment.
  • Expert level competency in Adobe InDesign, and strong competency in Adobe Creative Suite of applications, including Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Applied knowledge of HTML5/XHTML/CSS and content management systems.
  • Experience in using email management systems (e.g. Constant Contact, MailChimp etc).
  • Diverse marketing interests, and some experience in managing and leading marketing/communication programs.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities, objectives and deadlines.
  • Great communication skills, a passion for client service and the ability to communicate professionally and diplomatically, even in challenging situations.
  • Desire and enthusiasm for contributing to small office environment, which requires a combination of leadership, and willingness to roll up sleeves and “get things done.”
  • Experience in delivering small group presentations and ability to train small groups using systems such as Keynote.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities calmly and professionally.
  • Completion of post-secondary certification in graphic design required.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in digital or social media marketing and/or advertising is a significant asset.
  • Familiarity with website programming languages is desirable.
